New G35 Owner Questions
Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. Got my 2005 G35 sedan (automatic) about a month ago. This is my first Infinity and I'm very happy with the G35. I have one question: it seems like the G35 automatic is quite slow accelerating from the 1st and 2nd gears. I have to push hard in order for the car to get moving. It gets more responsive in the 3rd gear. Is something wrong with my car or is it just sluggish in the 1st and 2nd gear?
Also I'm surprise that the G35 does not have an input for Ipod or other MP3 players. The Nissan Sentra stereo has an AUX input which allows you to play your MP3 and the Sentra is a $12K car !

There could be a few reasons why your car feels sluggish. You've only had it a month.. I assume you followed the proper engine break-in procedure? (Keep the revs down, no jackrabbit starts, etc.) If you've just recently passed the 1200 mile mark and are now starting to play with it, the adaptive computer has gotten accustomed to your driving style during break-in. It may take a bit of aggressive driving for it to re-learn. Or you can search around in the FAQs or other areas of this forum for an ECU Reset procedure to clear it's memory.
It helps to turn off the VDC system if you want to drive more spiritedly. However, make sure that's really what you want to do. With that system off, it's quite easy to fishtail and lose control if you don't have much experience driving RWD cars.
As for the radio, mine's a 2003.5, and doesn't even play MP3's on it's own. There are aftermarket AUX adapters, not sure if they work for the '05. Go digging in the Audio forums here. Or you can always get an FM Transmitter adapter for your player.

I am going to have to insist that you spell the name of your car correctly from here on out. Just a pet peeve of mine. Thanks!
