Wow, that's the first I hear...so would you guys stick to the G instead? My G has had never ending issues just like "neverland ranch"...ha.ha.ha...I'm at 40k on my 03.5 G and the damn A/C gave out...now a new compressor..this is about the 5th major thing that goes wrong with it. I'm been contemplating bout the new TL w/ the sport pkg (ummm, brembos too)....any comments?

Well, that's me too, seems like I just turned 21 yesterday! Maybe we talked about this before now that I think about it!

well, we're talking about the 2nd generation TL's and the tranny problem is common knowledge. There have been some problems with the 3rd gen but not nearly the same frequency as our 2nd gen's. I'm an active member on a couple acura boards and there has been a great influx of folks ditching their cars because of the problems and jumping towards the G's and audi's.

with that being said, i've not driven the 3rd gen TL and lack knowledge on it as a whole (you have to love the interior though). check out acuraworld.com for 3rd gen info.

i hope i can post that url without breaking policy here

Drew

I traded my `03 TL in last year, with only 11,000 miles on it! Have not regretted a single one of the many dollars it cost me! Welcome. BTW, I celebrated the 46th anniversary of the 21st....Dayum! That makes me an OLD PHART!

I almost bought a pre-owned Acura TL--but the trans history scared me away. Now I am stuck with this.

I owened two TLs and got rid of them. The 2g models had tranny issues and the latest design has seat problems, rattles, chewed sensor wires, driveline vibrations, tranny oil jets, and you hear about people using the lemon law to get rid of their cars...

I would stay away from it

Sorry I took so long to reply. DSL problems.
Jp1 The Tls creature comforts might be slightly better.A touch more room in front. The handling of the G is much improved.Low end torque much better although I haven't went above 4000rpm's until after break in period.
I love the G
Bocheneck(Were you on the TL forums?I think I recall the name.)
I had Comptech springs & sways,Comptech headers,Icebox,Tints,Audiovox Alarm
(With Remote Start. That is the thing I miss the most about the Tl.)
I was about to get wheel and tires.Glad I didn't.
I did enjoy my time with the Acura except the way the transmission goes out.
Slippage and then violent downshift from 5th to 2nd gear.I'm suprised nobody has been killed on the freeway when that happens.I have heard of people getting hurt though.IU couldn't take that chance with my family so I traded it in with just under 20000 miles.
I will never own another Acura or Honda.

Thanks for the kind words

Mark

I'm ahead of you (39th anniversary of my 21st birthday was last year), but not RetAF. My first car was a 1971 Fiat 124 Spyder-fun, but not peppy or reliable.

The G is a blast.
