Can anyone recommend a good subwoofer for the Bose system in a sedan?

 

If your not into heart pounding bass I would suggest a Bazooka tube (www.bazooka.com) ...but dosen't the bose system already have a sub?

 

Yup. It's the speaker in the center rear deck with the Bose logo on it.

that is hardly a subwoofer! I know it is supposed to be, but have any of you seen the dinky amp that attaches to the bottom of the subwoofer, it's pathetic. Not to mention that it is only a 6.5 inch speaker, not an 8 inch like some may think, I checked. Anyway, I would recommend either a bazooka tube like Pesti said, or a small 8 or 10 in a nice enclosure off to the right side of the trunk like I am building, I'll post some pics when I'm done if anyone is interested.

Once you own the best, everything else is just the rest...

 

The 6.5" sub is just fine...

You mean the 6.5 FLABBERWOOFER?
Definitely get at least a bazooka.Somebody needs to put a leash on that uncotrolled bass. Just a lil loose in my taste. I think my $25 Altec Lansing computer speakers w/ 15 watt RMS subwoofer have more Oomph :P

 

DON'T waste your money with bazooka tubs, a g is quality car and it desrives quiality parts in it. i recomend jl w06s or w07s. they sound amazing and you do not have to blast them

 

Find and authorized JL Audio dealer in your area and see if they still have an 8IB-4 subwoofer in stock. Match the 8IB-4 with an appropriate amplifier and you will be quite impressed for an infintie baffle installation and it will keep you looking somewhat stock. Hurry though, the 8IB-4 has been discontinued by JL Audio. Also you could install a subwoofer and amp in the trunk by building an appropriate cabinet.

As far as subs go your going to want to get something to complement the decent speakers you already have. Bazooka tubes are not associated with quality bass, its mearly the thump not the sound. Alpine has a perfect sub for sound quality. Type R 10's or 12's sound great i own 2 12's in my g... It knocks hard when listen to rap and when i listen to led zeplin it can handle the mid lows, and deep lows from the bass guitars,, personally i go with all alpine

 

Hey Dabearz454. I would love to know more about the Alpine sub's you've got in your G. What kind of amp are you using, did you have to build a box for that subwoofer? I would like a sub that sounds good with all kinds of music, so maybe these are for me.
