This spring, I switched from Meguires to Zaino and the difference was amazing. Zaino gave my obsidian sedan an amazing finish with a very nice deep wet look. I also used Z5 which removed my many swirl marks. Meguires is decent, but I now know why so many people swear by Zaino.
I prefer One Grand Blitz and usually buy from carcareonline.com (no affiliation just a very satisifed, repeat customer). Additionally, customer service is second to none -- if you have questions, call them and they will spend time with you until you are comfortable with your purchasing decision.
I started using this stuff on my Harley's a few years back and have now been using it on the cars for a couple of years. Very, very happy with it.

Seems like Zaino is the popular choice. Couple questions. I was looking on their site at the products. Are you using the Z-2 PRO? That's a polish for clear coats. Is this comparable to a car wax, or are you using something else?
Also, can it be purchased in stores, or only through order?
Thanx!

Klasse All-In-One then Klasse Sealant Glaze. It looks good, lasts as long as Zaino, and it takes me about 40 minutes total to put on the Sealant Glaze and remove. I do a monthly update of Sealant Glaze for great shininess but the stuff beads water for 6 months. If you go to Autopia.org, they swear by Klasse and so do I. Its just too easy to keep your car looking great and well protected.
This belongs in the detailing forum, but - Zaino is easy to put on and take off. Really no more than any other wax job. Their recommended prep is what takes time, but if you need to do it with Zaino, you should probably do it with anything else (strip, clay bar, etc.) It lasts a long time, but I think it attracts dirt too. (Don't flame me). Zymol Japon is supposedly made specially for Japanese paint. Probably marketing, but it works great and I like the quality of the shine. Not all waxes are the same, some have more carnauba. If you don't mind waxing every month or so, it is a superior option, in my opinion and not outrageously expensive.
I use Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish, Meguiars Number 26 Hi-Tech Wax, Meguiars Detail Spray, and Meguiars Plastix (polishing the headlights). I've used all kinds of waxes in the past (Zaino, Zymol, etc) and I couldn't really see the difference. I care for cars, wash, wax, and polish them regularly. I've found Meguiars products to be excellent buys for the money. If you want to see real results with your car exterior products, buy a random orbital buffer. Not only can you polish/wax a car in less than 2 hours, the result is far better than you can get with your hands, you can't mess up the paint or finish, and a random orbital buffer is only $20-50.
For those of us with black and deep blue cars, we're screwed. No matter how much work you put into the finish, there will always be imperfections if your car is a daily driver. Dark colored cars are like mirrors and refract light as such. Even when new, a dark colored car will have swirl marks and fine scratches when viewed under a fluroescent light. Though when viewed from 15+', nothing looks better than a clean dark colored car on a partly cloudy day.

Maller, what I did recently was applied one coat of Z5, then one coat of Z6. After that, I then did one coat of Z2 and then another of Z6. I repeated this again the next weekend and it turned out amazing. If you have a black car like I do, the Z5 was a must as I had lots of swirl marks. Like I stated before, I've always used Meguires and had good success.....however I noticed a HUGE difference with Zaino. Just my opinion though. Good luck waxing your G!
