So pretty much your saying the new M35/45 is ugly and it looks like the MAxima. Because the front end of this car looks just like the M. The tail end looks good and doesn't look anything like a Maxima.

g20 = 2.0L
Q45 = 4.5L
I30 = 3.0L, and when it became a I35 the displacement rose to 3.5.

BMW almost always follows the same rule, except for the 540 and 740 of the last few years, which were 4.4.

Mercedes, Lexus and others follow this, so why wouldn't the 36 indicate 3.6?

Your wrong. V36 is the code given to the chassis. It used to be V34/R34, 33,32, etc. It DOES NOT stand for engine displacement.

I like the back. The front is very altima/maxima... I like the G35 front better. IMHO.
