Please tell me why the term "Rice" or "Ricer" is not racist. It refers to someone from Asia (pick your contry) and is just as racist as any derogetory word.

Homie got's to have sumfin to carry dat watermelon bac to de crib wit! " is CLEARLY racist ... if you don't think so, consult any historian who will tell you that the association of black people and watermelons is a tactic used by white people to make them appear animal like and below white people, thereby using this excuse to justify their abuse of both human and natural rights. Why is it that just b/c the car has an ugly wing, automatically you assume its a black person who has to use that for carrying a watermelon. I don't think any person of color would use the wording and stereotype u did, and if u wanna play "what ifs" thats fine by me ...
Rice is not the same as the N word ... Ricer is a term reffered to anyone who takes a pocket rocket civic or something and slaps on a big exhaust and altezza taillights and whoever goes for that look is termed ricer. Rice wasn't use as a term to put down asians throughout the past 200 years, but the N word was used in that was to put down enslaved blacks. If you throw on some tacky stickers, and swap out your taillights for altezza's, I can bet EVERYONE on this web board will call you a ricer, and of course you aren't asian ... so it has nothing to do with the race, it has to do with the way the car is styled.
As to why you can't use the N word, I assume by looking at ur above statement, you would use the N word in a derogatory manner ... its not a double standard, look back in history, the N word was used to put down a race, and there are many black people who are against using the N word (Bill Cosby for one, and many others) so I dont see what your point is, if you want to use the N word that badly, I advise you to think about what other people might feel or think. I doubt any of this will change ur mind, but if you dont speak out against whats wrong, then its just as bad as promoting such ill advised and racist statements. Learn ur history bro, racism is still very much alive, if u are aware of it or not its there.
i remember one year at hin, i think it was 02' i was walking down the aisles when i saw the back of a g35 sedan. as i walked to towards it i said to myself "alright someone hooked up a g". as i got closer inoticed the damn car was a altima with a wider rear to accomdate the g35 sedan bumper and tail light. damn that car was ugly as hell too lol
In reply to Texasscout-
I am sorry for the delay in my response, but I wanted to make it somewhat clear.
There is no double standard in the use of racist terms. People outside a group are not supposed to use derogatory terms about people in that group because they do not share in the characteristics of the group. They do not share in the pain of those terms, they only inflict the pain.
If I make fun of someone because they wear glasses, it is partly me making fun of myself because I wear glasses too, and it still could be cruel to do so, but at least I share some of the characteristics of the person I am mocking. If I make fun of someone with red hair, that is nasty or cruel or prejudiced since I do not share red hair with them. It is not something they can change or do something about, and it isn’t even their fault.
If you make derogatory comments about another racial or ethnic group, that is prejudice or racism. If you are member of the group and use bigoted terms, some members won’t mind and others will be upset. We outsiders don’t get to choose the terms that are acceptable to other groups. Stereotyping people is not helpful and usually gets the recipient upset.
If I make jokes about Texans, it is prejudice. If you do, (I am assuming you are a permanent or long-term resident of Texas and not there only for a short period), your friends might or might not like it, but at least you are making fun of yourself as well.
I have been the butt of ethnic jokes and ridicule and I don’t like it and I don’t do it to others.
I do not known the origin of “rice” or “ricer”, but if it is what you suggest, we shouldn’t use it.
I hope this is helpful.
