Question Mobil 1 Oil Filter?

Anyone here use the M1 oil filter on their G? If so, which number?

When I had my 2003 Maxima, I used an oversized M1 filter (number M105). It was bigger and held more oil than the M1 number that was listed for my engine.

Curious to know if the M105 filter fits on this engine too (since it's a similar motor). Getting close to my first oil change and definitely want to stick with Mobil 1.

Thanks

I purchase Nissan filters from the dealer for both the G35 & Maxima and they are the same part number, so I would say you can use the same filter you used with your Maxima.

I too used the Nissan filter from the Maxima on the G's. It's slightly larger than the OEM one.

I am not sure about the m1-105. I don't think that will work. The larger size that I use for my G is the M1-110. It is a size up from the M1-108 which is recommended for our cars.

Mobil 1 M-110

Larger than the stock filter (which happens to possibly be the world smallest automotive oil filter). The M-110 fits perfect.

while on the topic of oil filters,.......is there a reason for it being so small? I thought that bigger filters would do a better job of filtering more debris.....some edumacate...

larger filter = more filtering media

does not necessarily mean it will filter better

I've been using this http://ecat.arvinmeritor.com/smartlink/?partnum=PL14610

55k miles on it now, runs like new (actually better with the mods) and great oil analysis #'s. $5.99 at Fred Meyer, Pep Boys etc.

I've been using the Mobil 1 M-110. Though I don't think it filters better than the smaller ones, because of the additional surface area, it should maintain its flow better over the life of the filter.

A larger filter will not filter better, but it will properly filter LONGER than a smaller filter.
