I have noticed the X models are getting significantly lower MPG than the RWD's
My 05'X is averaging between 14-17 mpg, and i do ~80% city driving and have the lead foot.

I presently get almost 19, usually 18.7 to 19.1, in my 04 5AT RWD. That's both city and highway, though admittedly the only time I'm hardly ever on the highway is in bumper-to-bumper, so that's basically city anyway. Before I bought the car, I had trolled this board for a while and was prepared for the economy issue. However, my prior vehicle was an 02 Avalanche. That beast had a curb-weight of 6900 lbs ( that's correct; just a bit under 7k ), and it had a 5.3L v8. Not to mention that going down the road it had the aerodynamic characteristics of a brick. Over the lifetime of the car, I averaged right at 16mpg, to/from the same residence, to/from the same work location.

Compare those two values, and either the Avalanche's drivetrain was exceedinly efficient, or the g's is very inneficient.

BTW - the epi rating for the Avalanche was 14/18, so 16 is exactly what I should have gotten.

Your mileage should be higher that's for sure, but the navi can give false readings.
Next fillup, check your mileage the old fashioned way by dividing the miles by the gallons. You will probably find it much higher than 12.

If it really is close to 12, then have the dealer fix it.

Sounds to me like he needs to see the podiatrist instead of the dealer. That is poor gas mileage, even when I am romping on mine, I stll get at least 14 MPG

It gets better with time. I started at about 14 and now I'm a consistent 20 unless I'm ******* it. Started getting better around 11000 miles though.

LOL, I'm assuming that he's a conservative driver since he's trying for better gas mileage.
If his foot is always in it, then 12 isn't too bad.

I've had my 2004 G (RWD, not X) for 1 year and 3 months and till this day, with 91 gas, I get 12 mpg. It really depresses me insanely.
