I've seen in a few posts that the Infiniti symbol is Mt. Fuji. The first time I saw the symbol I was 12 years old, when the local dealership purchased a franchise. At the time, I figured it was supposed to be a road disappearing into the horizon; i.e., a road stretching into infinity.
So, has the Mt. Fuji thing been corroborated? Or is it merely like my own idea, a supposition?

The symbol is just that "Infiniti". Originally Posted by trey.hutcheson

The shape was altered for marketing purposes but If you look at the Calculus Mathematical Symbol "INFINITI" is very close to our cars' symbol. It is used for calculating derivitives which = infinite or endless numerical calculations.
I guess the Infiniti marketing team want the general public to have endless expectations of the cars they produce.

The generally accepted symbol for Infinity is a "lazy eight" - not to be confused with the Ranch cattle-branding symbol for the Lazy Eight Ranch.Originally Posted by Chico

I'm not sure I'm imaginative enough to see the Infiniti logo in the math symbol for Infinity.

I was just stating what I think it might be. That is not being imaginative.Originally Posted by SaltiDawg

Common sense dictates that the word "Infiniti" next to the symbol that looks like an incomplete / altered "lazy eight", could be referring to INFINITY.
I am not stating a fact, just my thoughts of what it could be.

In one of the links from the article above, it mentions the symbol as "suggestive" of Mt Fuji as well...

I thought it was a portal to an endless road... the endless road being the "peak" in the logo. C'mon people, use your imagination, we don't need no stinkin' legitimate explanations.
