Why don't you just do it and let us know what you find after a few thousand miles. Not to be harsh but it seems like you're obsessed with this topic.

Ditto......................It's obvious you feel differently so... bust the swap. You can be the Guinea pig (or did you already do it and are a little uneasy bout' it now? ) Anyway...kill the thread Ted, it's so dead. Or.........as you would say "Oh, so so all my posts sound the same and don't say anything?" Yupper..........

well technically, I'm not actually too sure- It would actually depend on how we define transfer case.
Traditionally speaking, Nissan's systems is most similar to a traditional transfer case type of system, off to the side of the tranny.

Nah i did already order the rims but im not worried about anything happening, my dad has a 2004 911 TT w/ staggered rims and a Cayenne Turbo w/ staggered rims and nothing bad has ever happened, it just wouldnt make sense that you could do it to porsches and not to a nissan, theres still drive shafts to all 4 wheels and some kind of transfer case that distributes power and its all electronic, so there cant be that much of a diffrence, as long as the wheels are all the same diameter........its like my friends w/ WRX's sayin its real bad when you get a flat and have to put on the spare, but if it was THAT bad for the car dont you think they would have gotten a full size spare tire w/ the car..........oh by the way my name is Angelo.......

Angelo...I don't know what is standard in the US, but in Canada, all of the 05 G35X models come standard with the full size spare on the 17" rim the same as the ones mounted on the car.

Okay, got it Angelo. I would think, if you had a flat and you had to put a drastically different size spare on, I would definitly be taking it real easy on my trip to get the flat repaired and I would drive it as little as possible.
Keep us posted, how it works out with the new rims, and post some pics.

Thinking about this out loud,
It doesn't make sense because GTR used staggered set-uo & G35 got teh AWD from GRT.

Also, How would the Car know the rim width? IT only knows it's slipping,
& turn on the front. It won't have a clue it's it's staggered or not.

Does any one has any HACT on which G35x was damaged or every just guessing?

I might just have to try this too. Just installed oem fron chin that Dealet & everybody else says it won't fit the X. BS. It fits like a glove!
