Shouldn't the weak paint be considered a flaw/defect? Has anyone hit Nissan for an answer or a resolution as it seems to be the predominant problem with our cars?

 

Hmmm . . . Perhaps, but someone please correct me if I am wrong. I thought that most, if not all of the auto manufacturers, as of late, had to reformulate their paint due to some sort of environmental related issues. Based on that information, I would be lead to believe that the soft paint issue would not only be relegated to the Nissan cars only.

 

Pick a recent model car, go to a fan-site with a message board and I gaurantee that 95% of the sites have the same complaints about paint quality. Sure some are better than others. I just think that most people have lost sight of the fact that paint chips WILL happen and with today's heavy freeway traffic, increased semi traffic, etc... paint chips are more prevalent. Anybody buying a new car today has to decide between three options: accept and live with the chips, accept and fix the chips with touch-up paint, install chipguard material.

 

Yeah, I guess a bra will have to be the solution. I can't imagine any kind of suit that will bring about a change within the car industry/EPA. On that note, anyone have a Caribbean Blue front bumper for a coupe in mint condition they don't need?
