Question Navigation - Help

I'm about to become a G35 owner and I'm considering buying the navigation package. Is it worth it? Easy to use? Is it a pain to program?

For some it isn't. There are better aftermarket Navigation systems. The upside is that it's fully integrated into the car. It cuts into the radio to give you voice commands, it leads you to the nearest gas station when you low fuel light comes on. Has a great trip computer, real time estimated gas mileage and a maintenance reminder.

For me, I am 100% glad that I got it.

I forgot to add it's has a cool Birds eye view

I agree. one downside vs others is that you (or you passenger) cannot program a new detailed address once you start driving- for safety purposes. I'm glad I got it. fyi, on the used market, cars with nav generally only go for an additional 500-1000 (at most).

I love my NAV and happy with it. I only wish it had a touch screen. You can get a fix to program while you are driving, just search the boards.

I miss my nav from my last car but I wouldn't have wanted it in my G. The only reason being that it takes up the storage above the AC panal and the compartment above the glove box. I use these and looking back I would be upset about not having them especially on our 6MT since the console is so tiny on those. It's really a personal preference thing though. 2k is a lot of money though. I paid that on my last car but it included a 6 disc DVD changer and flip down LCD screen w/2 sets of headphones.

Good luck on getting the new car and welcome to the "club"

I am a little disappointed on the programming of the DVD as I have been victim of at least 4 different errors in directions and I am losing confidence in blindly following the system directions. I get especially upset when you follow the directions and all of a sudden the sytem is recalculating a new route as if you missed a turn. Happens a little too often to make me feel comfy. Also the shortest distance is not always the shortest distance. Bottom line is I would rather have it then not have it despite its flaws.

I'm really hooked on Infiniti's navi....I had it on a Sedan, next on a Coupe and now on an M. I love it. In my opinion, a must have.

Love it in our Oddessey. The Acura's is the best on the market, but I'd still get it.

LOVE IT.

My used G came with it for almost no more than a no-nav car.

LOVE IT.

It is nice, and it works okay, but without touch screen, I don't use it much. If you're low on cash, I say you can skip this and get some of the other factory options, or maybe use the $2k you save on this to upgrade the other things like the stereo/speaker system.

Question How do you program NAV to Touch while driving?

How do you reprogram the NAV? There are a lot of situations where you need the "Co Pilot" to reprogram in route? How is this done? Help
