Colgan Bra Scratches

Colgan Bra Scratches
Does anyone notice fine scratches on the hood after removing bra? My G is black and it is noticeable. I called tech support at Colgan and the guy suggested that my bra had some movements that could cause the scratches.
Is this just Colgan's problem? Should I try the Infiniti one?
Thanks.

With Black you will have to same issue no matter which bra. One thing you can try is to keep the area waxed ALL the time, but it is probably caused by dirt and sand getting caught under the edge.
You can get some of that clear vinyl tape from TrimLine and place under the bra in those areas.

Re: Colgan Bra Scratches
Anything that isn't stuck to the surface of the car will either flutter or vibrate with some sort of movement, thus causing scratching. This is would happen with any Colgan type bra, especially on Infiniti's "soft and brittle" paint. Unfortunately, your only option is to not use it.
Sorry to hear about that, but if the scratches aren't too deep, you can probably polish them out.....good luck.

Re: Colgan Bra Scratches
I bought an Infiniti Nose cover. The upper portion started
fluttering during a 1500 mile trip. When finished with the
trip, took off the nose cover and discovered what I thought
were scratches under the edge of the upper portion.
Pissed me off royally! Turnes out the damage was removed
when I used Mguires cleaner wax, followed by polish and
Carnuba. I Hot glued stripes if black felt to the underside of the
tope edge of the upper portion of the Nose Cover. I don't think
the felt will cause the marks left by the raw Nose Mask.
We will see......

I have a black coupe and use the Colgen. First off, make sure your car is waxed. I think thats important. Second, make absolutely certain that the bra is on correctly. Make sure it is snug and it should not flutter at all. The only part of my car that doesn't have scratches is the area covered by the bra. Also, I would make sure to wash the car once a week. Clearing out all the debris and dust helps I'm sure. I also run the California duster over the car nearly every day.

Re: Colgan Bra Scratches
Those types of nose bras have always tended to either scratch or otherwise damage the finish on your car. The 3M type clear bras are better, but still a compromise as you can still see them, and tend to yellow on lighter cars over time, and don't stop bigger rocks from damaging your car. I think it's still the best option so far, and I don't like those plastic air deflector thingies.
