Clear Bra: 3M vs. Llumar

The clear bra on the '03.5 G-sedan I just bought is peeling up at the sharp corners and there is a tear where a rock has hit the film on the driver's side mirror. I am seriously thinking about getting it removed and having another bra reinstalled, but not sure what brand mine is (3M or whatever) or what brand I'll use.

I'd like to hear from some long-term users of both the 3M product as well as some that have the Llumar film on their cars. Have there been any adverse reactions like graying, discoloring, or peeling with either product. What are the good and bad point with each.

Thanks.

True. Sorry. Didn't mean to offend.

llumar

i have llumar on my 94 for a year now. bumper, front of hood, leading edges of the fenders and mirrors.my dealer remarked on how good it looked compared to others she had seen,on dg it's almost invisible.the installer said he liked it better than 3m it's thicker but more flexible, he's big in the tri-state area, sex-ex.i use 303 on all the clear parts instead of wax it protects better and the bugs don't stick. so far so good.

I prefer Llumar. I've had it on my G for 6 months now, and as expected no problems. I compared the Llumar with the 3M at the dealer before deciding and the Llumar was thicker and much more clear.

Either way, both are probably just as good, but seeing the Llumar in person gave me alittle more peace of mind that what I was doing was the right decision.

Thanks for the replies, folks. I've pretty much set on the Llumar and have found an installer close by.

You know, being a native Texan (from San Antonio originally) I am always defending Texans when people here in the Midwest say we are arrogant & rude. I tell them that Texans are gentlemen and always go the extra mile to be courteous. But then, of course, there are always exceptions.

Not being rude. Just being correct. There were 2 other topics going on and I was letting you know.
