Hello everyone - about to get a new G35.

Hi.

My family has been a long time domestic driver, but my dad was looking for a new sedan and I recommended the G35 sedan. We both wanted the 6-speed manual transmission.

We're right in the middle of purchasing one, I think we got a good deal. We couldn't find any '05 6-spd sedans here in the NYC area, but our local dealer actually had 2 leftover 2004 6-spds with Prem. packages. MSRP was $34,750, they gave it to us for $31,500 - so I thought it was a good deal.

Just saying hello and planning to post here often. Thanks.

Josh

Congrats on the ride. Enjoy the car. Is it yours or your dad's?

Thanks for the welcome. I promise to post pics as soon as we take delivery.

Well, technically its my dad's. But, you know, times when he's too lazy to pick up my mom from work or when I can sneak it out on certain nights then its "mine".

Congrats, but I'd tell your dad to hold out. That deal isn't good enough. That's about the same deal I got back in October of last year. Although, in your area, it might be good enough and you don't want to stop the deal entirely. Tell them to throw in some free car washes. Those boys at the dealership are going to make their money. Use edmunds.com You'll know if the deal is right.

Real bad move getting an 04 with only 3200 off list. I got 2300 off list, or 900 over invoice, back in Jan for my 05 6 spd and people are now getting them for invoice which is about what I think you would be paying for the 04 with your current "deal" You should get at least 1k under invoice for an 04 before even considering it and then you should think twice. The 04 will be 2 model yrs old in a few months plus the 05 had significant improvements to the interior and 38 hp more. I hate to sound like an ahole but I think one of the benefits of this board is to offer another opinion. Take it for what its worth.

Red face WAY Too high

If you are paying anywhere near invoice for an 04 sedan, i think it is too high.
I got my 05 G35x just couple of weeks back and I paid couple of hundered below invoice.

For an 04, I will not consider the deal unless it is atleast 2000 below invoice. There have been "MAJOR" changes for an 05 and the new 06 are coming out soon.

I seriously think it is not a good deal based on my research I did for purchasing my car.

Good luck.
