The mirror is not still and it shakes a bit but if you hold onto it tight and it's fine. Did they replace it again for you? Because I might mentioned this when I bring it in. Also, my center console makes a "ticking" noise when I step on the brakes sometimes. Probably similar to your situation. That center console below the shifter, if I would to wiggle it a bit it makes the nasty plastic to plastic squeaky sound. Is that how yours was? I can't believe Infiniti let these "pop..tick..squeaky" noises pass their QA.
I haven't gone in for the second round of service / complains. The center console noise is completely gone now. I still have the rear view mirror shaking, although they replaced it the first time. As for the noice i noticed from the drivers side window / door, I did not hear it again. It just went away; so not worried. I still hope they can do something about the rear view mirror.
Good luck with your service call, let me know if the TSB help fix your issues.

I brought my car in today for the rear door rattles. Also, mentioned the rear view mirror shaking etc. Hopefully they can fix it. The rear view mirror is fine on local streets but once you go on highway and speeds of like 60+ or so it shakes.

Got an I35 loaner today with Boss and premium package. All I have for the car is "yuck". Hopefully no one has the I35 on this forum. This was the last car I was hoping for as a loaner. The look was way too conservative, looks like a rental tauras with a nice interior. Exhaust note was almost silent, thought I was driving a lexus for a moment. Of course it's got some Infiniti rattling from the cabin. Power was weak and I thought my car (without the non sport option) was a bit weak. Oh boy...was I wrong. The I35 handles like a boat on water. When turning it leans so much. The G just looks and handles so much better. When you drive other cars thats when you appreciate your G even more.

Update:

The guy called me back and they need to order the bolts to fix the TSB on the rear doors. As for the rearview mirror, he said the technician tighten the mirror and it should be fine now (we’ll see). I guess I won’t be getting my car back yet. That sucks. Have to deal with the i35 crappy exhaust again.

Redline it all the way home .Would be fun if it was stick but I doubt they have stick loaners. Would be fun if it was the rwd model too. Anyway, having the same car might not be bad at all at least now I can test the car anyway I wanted.

I've never launched my car to redline and a shift to redline. Felt pretty quick. Not sure if my car will be ready today but no rush. Time for some high rpm's chirp chirp launches after lunch.

Mikee,

I'm the GM(General Manager) at the Infiniti dealership where you had
your G35 serviced. We know what you did with our loaner. If only you knew what we did with your car.

Sorry I don't live in RI. By the way, I was at Rhode Island this weekend. Newport was awesome.

My brother used to work at Chevy dealerships and if anyone brought in a tuned Vette or Camaro, those cars needed lots of test driving no matter what the problem was.

Got my G back today. I am so glad I don't have to drive that crappy floaty I35. Felt like a grandpa driving a buick getting in and out of that I35.

Anyway, seems like they fix the TSB on the rear door (at least I didn't hear any noise on the way back). As for the rear view mirror it seems fine but I took the car home going on local streets so have yet to try it on the highway.

I had also mentioned that the console by the cupholder squeaks when I brake the car. It also makes squeaky noise if you push it. The guy just said "well your car is going to make some noise". Anyway, that thing wasn't on a TSB so I didn't want to push it. It gets a little squeaky when I brake but that I can deal with. Maybe I'll try to put some foam between the gaps when I get a chance. At least I don't have that "pop, tick" annoying noises from the rear now.

Back to driving my G, damn...the exhaust note sounds 10 times better than the I35. Yeah...obviously no where close to the coupe/fx's dual exhaust sound. Also, gone was the floaty, leany feel that I was getting from the I35.

mike, let us know what the dealer did to fix your 'vibrating' mirror. I had this problem since day-1. Dealer replaced it and it is still the same. It seems to be worse when the interior is hot (like sitting in the sun for a while).

Well, first of all it usually happens while I am driving on the highway. At speeds of 60+ it vibrates and I get a bit dizzy looking at it. On local streets most of the time it's fine. The dealer didn't swap it out. He said they tighten the rear view mirror. I only drove local street today so I don't know if it'll vibrate till I take it out onto the highway.

I usually check my NAV's MPG average, its always much lower after I pick up my car. They are definatley beating it up.

Took it out on the highway this weekend. It's vibrating again at like 60mph plus. The said the mirror was tighten, it's probably some BS. I looked at it, the whole assembly is not that tight. It has some "play" right where it sticks on the windshield. I mean the G is a great car but just too many little annoying things here and there. I betcha a Honda/Toyota you won't be getting these little glitches.

the G is a great car and i agree that the interior is just sadly poor quality.
on my way to the 13th G meet and back, i was really upset and frustated to the point where the entire ride back home i just thought of what were my options like maybe returning the car, a tradin, or selling it back to infiniti as preown for others. but after the next day driving on local roads, the car is so nice and good feel to it. so im really on and off about my G. dont now what im gona do.

You got to be kidding wife's Honda Odyssey is only a year old and it has rattles coming from everywhere. My G is really quiet in comparison.

Mike...that's too bad . On mine, I think the 'vibration' is from the mirror glass inside and not the mirror assembly. IMHO, Infiniti seems to have problems with their equipment supplier. This is no rocket science!
