Got a loaner today...redline time!

Hello all,

Bought my car into the dealers for that "gas filling issue" from the TSB. Also mentioned to them there are some little rattling noise coming from the rear passenger door on the driver side. Anyway, got a loaner car. I can't believe they gave me the same car (black g35x). I was hoping for a rwd and a different color car.

Redline it all the way home .Would be fun if it was stick but I doubt they have stick loaners. Would be fun if it was the rwd model too. Anyway, having the same car might not be bad at all at least now I can test the car anyway I wanted.

I've never launched my car to redline and a shift to redline. Felt pretty quick. Not sure if my car will be ready today but no rush. Time for some high rpm's chirp chirp launches after lunch.

How old are you? Have you not got that out of your system? So you want to gun it---ok...............................but what is the emphasis on redlining? Sounds kind of juvenile.

I redline my own G several times on my 15 mile ride to work and again on the way home. It will not hurt anything.

I am 29 and I love beating the **** outta loaner cars too though.

Not really redlining...I guess gun it then...just 6,000+ rpm and before redline to feel the burst of power. I am 32. Not 18 if that's what you thought I was.

Nah...I haven't gotten that out of my system yet. I still want some nice surge of power but just don't want to do it to my own G...

Anyway, I am back from joyride now. My brother (34) gave it some hard punches too. Sorry...we are young at heart. After all those revving the exhaust kinda get to me now. Ringing little bells by my ears now.

On my own G I think I've only gotten past 6,000rpm a few times.

I am 3 years older than you and still love to beat up on any cars other than mines when the opportunity arises.

Bobby....it won't hurt your car to wind your car out once in a while. You probably have it broken in by now. You can bet your last dollar the young fellow at the Dealers will be red-lining yours while they are out testing it to find your rattle.

Anyway, enough of joy ride already. They are done with my car so I am bringing the loaner back. Had fun while it lasted.

I redline the car a handful of times each week. It's a blast. Just need to check the wear items carefully and have money for more gas!.

I would venture to say that none of us really got it out of our system. Otherwise we would have bought a Lexus es330

Anyway got back my car. They seem to fixed the rattling sound now. As for the service bulletin on the gas tank issue I'll have to test it on my next few fill-ups. The loaner even though it's an 2005 with only 3,000+ miles but inside was so dirty and the swirls on the black paint was horrible.

I only drove the loaner for 40 miles or so. Filled back the gas for $6 bucks. Pretty good bargain to burn some rubber and test the car right?

Talk about gas. It's outrageous. It's $2.75 for Premium in NY.

Hopefully they got all your problems sorted out. I thought the gas fill-up problem was already fixed up on the 05 models, I have not had any problems so far (fingers crossed), I now have about 8,400 miles on mine.

Yes gas prices are outrageous, in Ontario we are paying about 80-85 cents US a liter for premium.

This is what they fixed for me today. Hopefully they did. It affects 2003-2005 G's.
