Rear Window Sun Shade
Rear Window Sun Shade
Anybody found a source for a retractable rear window (see through) sun shade for the sedan? A forum search turned up some old stuff but nothing really useful. We've got an infant in a rear-facing seat and want to keep the sun off him on long trips. I've tried those cheap suction cup shades, but they keep falling off (plus look crappy). I've seen stock roll-up shades for BWM and Mercedes that cover the whole rear window, but are see-through (mom's E500 has a powered one). The usual sources (Infiniti accessories and EverythingG35) don't seem to be much help.
yeah, get a good tint job done.
i messed with every sun shade ever made when my kids were babies. nothing worked as good as the tint i finally had put on.
even those retractable ones dont cover every square inch. seems the sun always finds the cracks and beats down on your kid's head. murphy's law

That's exactly what you should do. Sunshades only block out some light, but it does nothing to other solar properties. A good window film will block out almost all UVs, reduce significant amt of heat and infrared rays.
Wil just said it the best. The window film will block out most of the UV which is very harmful to babies skin. After my son as born, we got both cars tinted. Of course Baby was a good excuse to justify the tint.

I use the new born as an excuse to get tint.
I love it now, the interior stays cool and it is good for the leather.
