the updated software is more an update on new streets and locations, not really an update of the actual software programming

it can be found at:

http://www.zenrin.com/

I heard they usually update around August of every year, so hopefully the new data will be out soon, if not already

Comparing my G's navi to my parents' RX330's, I still like mine more. It is very simple and straight forward, easy to use and master. One thing I like it more than the Lexus's is that it repeatedly tells you to keep left or right before you actually do it so you won't miss the exit and you don't have to suddenly change lane, it gives you enough time to adjust. Lexus doesn't guide you as frequently as the Infiniti's. This is especially helpful if you are at a unfamiliar place. If you go the wrong way, it auto-reroutes very quickly. I haven't tried the Acura's, but I don't think it could be much more helpful, although Acura/Honda's seems fanzier and has more "convenient" stuff such as voice-activated function. Frankly, I don't find those things important. Touch-screen would be faster to punch in info, so Infiniti could bring in touch-screen instead of that control stick.

I am in outside sales, and unlike some people on here that are apparently psychic and know everywhere they are going even if they have never been there, I don't and every day I leave my house the first thing I do after turning on the car is set the NAV to get me where I am going...No it's not perfect, but it's 99% perfect...and it's far better than some cheapo PDA system, or aftermarket unit (yes you can remove it, but it's one more thing to lug around)...and it's designed to fit in the car nice and neat and can be closed up so no one knows you have it...For $2000 it's not free, but the ROI is there if you are going to use it.
