I got my G35 6MT 2 weeks ago. It is a very nice car but there is a little problem. My G35 is making a high pitching noise. It does not happen all the time but some times when I reduce the speed or down shift it occurs. The Dealer told me that happens because Infiniti designed a new transmission, and all 2005 G35 6MT make this high pitching noise. Does anyone have the same problem like my car? At the same dealership I drove another 6MT and that car did not make any high pitching noise. Is this true that they all make this noise as the Dealer is saying? It is hard for me to tell since mine does not do it all the time.If anyone have a 05 6MT just let me know.

 

Does it sound like a whistle and come from the left front side? It may be the air intake? Mine did this very noticeably, particularly in situations like you describe. It actually seems to have gone away which I don't understand but it was very noticeable when brand new.

I don't think it is a problem. The noise did not sound bad (i.e. as if something was being damaged, if that makes any sense) and like I said, it went away .. after about 7-800 miles.
