I bought the extended warranty, but only because I plan to keep it for the 7 years of the warranty.

Almost 2 years into it, and I still enjoy it. Only 3 more years of payments

Would have gone with a shorter term loan, but 3.4% for 5 years was low enough not to go with the higher payments for 3 or 4 years for no lower rate.

I've had mine for just over a week. Test drove one on Friday 7/22 over lunch. Came back that night and dickerred for an hour or so to get what I wanted at 1K under invoice (the dealer incentive). As I was going into the FW's office (Finance Weenie), the manager came to me telling me that my car still had the plastic on it and they wouldn't have enough time to get it perfect, so would I mind taking home a loaner (identical to my purchace except for color). No problem. The FW didn't try too hard to sell me anything, except the 1.99% financing. So, instead of paying cash, I just put down 20K. Heck, my money earns more than that just sitting in the bank!
Had a great time with the loaner that night. It had 1200 miles on it so I felt okay about driving it hard. Picked up mine the next day - had a total of 7 miles on it. Checked over the cosmetics - all looked fine. Wasn't unit I was on the road that I noticed that I had ripples in the pass. side of the windshield. Deciding whether to have it replaced or not. I washed it for the first time this last weekend and still found no finish imperfections. Except for the windshield, it is PERFECT!

1. Check the feel of the driver seat to ensure it's not too tight for your right thigh.
2. Listen for weird noises (although these can probably be fixed by the dealer).
3. Test the clutch and run through all the gears on the 6MT (mine had some small shifting problems when I picked it up)
4. Look for small scratches on exterior paint
5. Check for pull to one side on the steering to indicate proper alignment and balancing

#1 from above is a good point. I'm 6' and average build (175 lbs) and my right thigh is right on the edge of the seat. I don't have any comfort problems but I can easily see why others, who are bigger than me, do.

Boy, if only I had thought to do something like this before I bought my G cos I would have....Still bought the same car!

I love it! My wife loves it ! My clients love it!

But dont, under any circumstances, buy:

Extended warranty.
Rust proofing.
Interior treatment.
Paint treatment.

If you need to ask why go ahead.
But don't do it.

Great stuff guys, thanks! So, if i do find imperfections on the model i want does this discount the price? any thoughts on a targeted price over/under invoice for a auto with c package in the bay area would be appreciated as well.
Thanks again!

I don't think it'll discount your price. Just make sure the dealer takes care of them before you pick up the car to avoid having to go back again.
