Has anyone repainted after removing spoiler?

I'm wanting to remove the oem spoiler off of my Ivory Pearl sedan, but I get mixed responses from different body shops when requesting estimates. Some say no problem, while others say that they wouldn't patch the holes and repaint, but that I should go with new deck lid. Obviously, a new deck lid or used IP lid would be the best route, but it's almost impossible to find a used IP lid, and to pay retail for a new one + paint seems a bit ridiculous.

Has anyone patched the holes and repainted? How did it turn out and how has it held up over time?

I am pretty sure when you remove your stock spoiler you are able to patch it. i know they can apply fiber glass in some form to the trunk and sand it and repaint the truck and shoot some paint to the corner panels and bumper for a nice blend. i have the same ivory white sedan. if you were to remove the spoiler were you interested in selling it?

Sure, I'd be interested in selling it once I determine what route I'm going to take. What year is your G? Do you have dog tag trunk latch or is it the push button only style? I'd like to swap decks with someone if I could find someone reasonably close in distance. I have the earlier trunk lid with the latch in the lid.
