Question Any negative issues with the aluminium pedals?

I was considering ordering the aluminium pedal set for the 5AT.
I was just wondering if anyone thought they were slippery, or had any other comments to consider.

TIA

Brian

I switched them over in my 6mt, and like them. I think the feel is as good or even better than stock, and they certainly look much better. No regrets, but some harsh language during the install.

They aluminum are slippery when wet. The stock ones are better when wet especially when wearing sandals.

Yupper........and they're blinding when the sun hits them just right and reflects back onto your keys and into your eyes. To keep this from happening I only drive when it's raining, but then they get all slippery and such.........so then I gotta wear sneakers and wipe em' off when I get in the car. Then I have ta worry about what to do with the wet rag...................C'mon....the pedals' are fine

Well that sucks. I'm about to glue some sandpaper to my freakin' clutch pedal. It's rained, literally, every day since I got the car one week ago today. Welcome to Florida in the summer time.
If I had a complaint about the car, it would be that the stock clutch pedal is too slick when I got a little wetness on my shoes.

I haven't had any problems with mine when they're wet, but I drive an auto.

If the clutch pedal gets slick, why not go to Home Depot and buy some black traction tape (the stuff they use on painted stairs), cut it in small circles and place on the black rubber circles of the pedal?

I've thought about it. Though the design of the pedal wouldn't lend itself to circles. I'd have to cut thin strips. Which is doable. My sandpaper example was hyperbole

I'm probably going to look into just changing out the pedals if I can find something that has better traction. Of course, we're just in the rainey season right now and 6 months out of the year this isn't an issue.

Aluminum is obviously more slippery than rubber. So that is a good idea.

The clutch does get very slippery when wet when wearing dress shoes or sandals. Not everyone wears special edition tennis shoes like JustBrilliantX (who drives his daughters auto).

They should make condoms out of aluminum.. All you would have to worry about it not doing it when the sun is out or making sure the lights are out so you don't blind yourself.

Just wanted to chime in here. You do have a choice. I've had these pedals for a couple of years, and am extremely pleased with them.

I have some RAZO ones where the holes come a little up and grip your soles, kinda hard to explain. Didn't have any problems when wet, yet.
