People like to lie, huh? I can't believe that guy with as much competition as there is in PA and NJ, sounds like he needs a personality course.
I am in the similar situation as you were back then, I was hoping to get a great deal on a '05 when the '06 are going to come out, and I do realize that the stock I have to chose from is going to be thin but it was something I was willing to do because I'm not in a rush to get a car, if anything, I will get an '06. But that dealer's attitude was a joke and I'm suprised he gets any business from the way he acts. Like you said, he isn't the only dealer in town but we bought our last car, '04 g35x, there and one of the sales guy gave us a good deal. I guess I'll just go through the same guy again instead of dealing with the online salesmen.

I was offered $400 over invoice for an 05. Now is a good time to buy an 05 off the dealer lot because they're making room for the 06's. It's not a good time to buy an 06. There isn't much difference between 05 and 06 -- bluetooth, I think. Price also depends where you live and how many 05's are sitting on the lot. Best deals are found in the afternoon on quiet days near months end.

That attitude wouldn't surprise me here, since we only have one Infiniti dealer in the state, I got some when I bought my '04, but the manager has changed since then, I didn't do great on my '05, but I did okay, better than I did on my '04! I don't know about internet sales, I'd rather do it in person. I know Willow Grove, I am from Bucks County originally.

There are three dealers in my area: WG, Ardmore, and West Chester. Hopefully the one in West Chester is able to beat the price that WG gave me. Is it safe to say at this time, I can make an offer around something that is $200 above dealer invoice or at invoice? Or is $400 above dealer invoice a fair buy?

He then goes on to bash me about how I'm playing a cat and mouse game...all I asked for was for him to tell me what he has on the lot and I'll check it out.

That's the exact kind of talk that I absolutely hate from dealers. It's like they are treating you like a freakin moron and at the same time, pressuring you to buy now. I got a similar tone from the dearer where I bought my car but it was much more subtle. They were nice and all but things got weird anytime I tried to negotiate the price. I thought $500 over invoice, minus the $1000 incentive, was perfectly fair but they acted like I was crazy. They told me that invoice was not an accurate value of their costs or something like that. It still worked out pretty good compared to buying without incentives and I got the exact car I wanted which was hard to find.

Do Ardmore and West Chester have as much stock as WG? WG seems to have a pretty good stock. I would think with three dealers in such close proximity, the WG guy would be willing to deal to keep your business.

Who'd you talk to at Willow Grove?

It has been my experience that no dealer will go below invoice price for a 2005 G35X in the southeastern PA region at all this week. The have all (six dealers) let me walk away after I try to go even $100 lower.

It is also my research that there is no $1000 dealer incentive for the G35X at this time. This means that the dealer is making holdback plus maybe a quota bonus, but not much more. Fair to good deal in my book. Anyone who has done better - post a scan of your sales order (but blank your name and SS# first for god's sake!)

Too often these "under invoice" deals tend to involve trades. This leads me to the conclusion that if they cannot get you on the new car, they will take it out on your trade. It is the oldest game in the book and why I never trade (not to mention they give you crap anyway.)

Additionally, the 2006s will not hit lots before November in this area. So there are a few more months to get a good price - but not the 3.99% financing on 60-month loan. Again, my experience is that Infiniti only offers financing deals only once a year.

I've been to Admore and they have a small lot compared to WG. WG is pretty big and thats why I chose them. I've never been to West Chester so if anyone has had experience with them, then please make a post. Most likely I'm goin to go into the dealership and negotiate on a price.

Have you had good service/treatment from WG? That too is something to keep in mind, and just maybe to remind them of the service business you bring, if you do. Yeah, I've seen WG from the turnpike, and it does look big.

Just thought I'd update on the pricing of the G35, this was what was emailed to me by the internet salesman from Infiniti of WG, "As for the $1000, there is such an incentive but only for the RWD G35, not the AWD. Sometimes people are not clear enough. And, frankly, I would believe very little of what I read on chat rooms. People lie."

Edmund.com's price is the last place I would check against as it often has no semblance to reality. I would use invoice as the benchmark and see how much below it you can get. Remember when you sell the car in 5 yrs or so, an 06 will get better resale than an 05 so some of your upfront savings will be lost in the future. This is also a good comeback to the dealer who says there is little difference between the 05s and the 06s and refuses to go low on the 05s.
