Right time to buy???

Well I've been looking to get a '05 G35x recently, but I've been holding out for a good deal from a dealer. I checked prices on Edmunds.com and various other places hoping that somewhere would tell me if there was going to be holdbacks, incentives and other price breaks on the car but haven't found any. I searched the treads and saw some people posing a similar question but none had definitive answers pertaining to my question. So I open it up to you all to chime in if you know when the best time to buy the car is. I was thinking that they would be trying to clear the lots for the 2006 models but there aren't any great sales on the car.
Right now I have a dealer thats offering a 2005 G35x Twilight Blue with stone interior with Premium package, splash guards, and navigation for $36,081. What do you guys think? Buy now or wait just a little longer and see if they do offer a better sale on the cars.

Thanks for helping me, I really appreciate any input. If you don't have anything to say that contributes to what I'm posting, please refrain from posting in my thread. Thanks again.

I wouldn't settle for anything less than $1000 under invoice now. An 05 is just arround the corner from being used!

That was exactly what I was thinking!!! I think the dealer thought he was sweetening the deal for me or something. I'm also just goin to consider holding out for the '06. I'm really at ends at deciding which one to get...

when the 06's hit the lot, they will be aching to get rid of the 05's. That will probably be the best time to buy.

I guess I'll just do that and wait for the '06 to hit the lot and if its not that big of a difference compared to the '05, I'll be gettin an '05. So what is a fair deal below dealer's invoice when buying the car? This is my first time buying a car so all of this is new to me.

I think that will be very tough to get unless sales are down in the area. If the $1000 rebate is still in effect, then it's possible. I think waiting until the 06's are arriving on dealer lots is the best time. There is very little changes in the 06 so I'm not sure if dealers are going to give away the 05's. If you have time to wait, just keep bugging the dealer and work the numbers. Tell them what you want to pay and get multiple dealers competing.

I've been negotiating with various dealers around my area for one already, and so far, Infiniti of Willow Grove has given me the best deal (checked it against edmunds.com). We also purchased our last car there for a good deal as well. I'm not in a rush to get the car as I was five weeks ago when my car broke down, but since then I got something to replace it. I was hoping to get that $1000 incentive, and that would have made the choice a lot easier. But I guess waiting a month or two won't hurt since I've been waiting this long alreadey. Thanks for all your replies so far

According to what I found, the $1000 dealer incentive is not for a G35X

That being said, i just beat up a dealer to $208 over invoice. That was the best they would do.

What are others getting now, for the G35X (has to be the X), compared to invoice?

New Sedan Cost.........

I'm sure deals are getting better by the day but last friday (8/5) I made this deal:
*KBB for my American trade - 97 Grand Prix (not an easy task)
*'05 G35x/DG/Graphite/AT/Prem/Splash/Spolier/Trunk Mat for approx $700 under invoice
*Lojak for $200

If I could do it again I'd wait awhile longer and squeeze for over $1,000 under invoice...........

Arrow My deal

See This Thread for my deal. Is that Willow Grove, PA? Flemington, NJ is right down route 202 (would you have to pay double tax?) and they are doing massive deals on the G35Xs. If you have a trade, try to beat them up. However, if you don't have a trade I would just order one from carsdirect.com - take that price and run.

Heh... The best I've been able to get dealers to do in this area is 3% over invoice plus about $1000 less than I want for my trade.

The Willow Grove I was refering to is in Southeastern PA off of the 476 turnpike. Well this is WG's repsonse to me:

"As for $1000 under invoice - nonsense. People like to lie about what a great deal they got. As for price drops, there is not a lot of 2005 inventory as there was last year for 2004s. So, we do yet know what, if any incentives, Infiniti will offer in terms of extra cash."

He then goes on to bash me about how I'm playing a cat and mouse game...all I asked for was for him to tell me what he has on the lot and I'll check it out.

You know, when I bought my first, '04 G35, I waited until the '04's came out hoping for a deal on an '03, didn't happen, they only had one '03, and the color combo sucked, so I wound up with my '04, so it can work both ways. People like to lie, huh? I can't believe that guy with as much competition as there is in PA and NJ, sounds like he needs a personality course.
