Thumbs up g35x loaner

so my G is in for service, i dropped it off yesterday and they put me in a 04X, i didnt even know it was the X till this morning when i opened the garage, cause i never looked at the back of the car at the dealership, it was raining this morning and let me tell you i had some fun in the car, that X hooks beautifuly on turns, the suspension is pretty tight on it too, it seems like it handles better then my 03G, but i dont have the sport suspension on mine either.

i also have another question, i have a black 03 G and this is an 04 black X and the paint on this X looks beautiful, even though the car was dirty it still looked so glossy with no swirl marks. On my car theres swirl marks all over and the paint looks dull, is there anyway to get that shine back all the time instead of just after a carwash.

NonAme...I remembered replying to your earlier posts. Did the dealer fix your rattlings yet?

hmm when i read my post i only read the messages, dint bother looking at whose it was unless i had a question and had to back track to the auther. No my dealer did not fixed it. spent 3 hours in the waiting room but it wasn't fix. the service guys were very nice and understanding so i just acknowledge the fact that its not fixable and stop waisting their times.

Yes, but are you willing to put some time in? Like you, I have a black 03 and I swear the prior owner used a 100 grit towel on the car. The hood was a little hazy and I doubt the car was ever waxed. Last month I did the following:

1) Wash
2) Mother's clay bar on all upper facing panels ($12)
3) Meguiars paint cleaner (removes all wax) ($4)
4) Meguairs "Scratch-X" on hood, roof, spoiler ($4)
5) Meguairs polish ($5)
6) Megauirs show car yellow wax #26 ($5)

Before the process, the car looked good, now it looks very close to new. The paint finish is like a mirror and 95% of all the swirls/scratches are gone. As I'm driving down the road, I can actually look at the hood and see the reflection of things I'm passing.

It took me about 3 hours to do all this applying be hand and removing with a $25 random orbital buffer.

i have the 3 step wax process from maguiars, i didnt use it yet, but you think that might help, the situation.
And this clay bar you speak of, how does that work and how do you apply it on??

Careful with a clay bar, you can probably find some good info searching. Clay bar usually comes with some kind of liquid (clay lube) in a spray bottle. You will spray the panel you are working on and then drag the clay bar over the entire panel. Try to do this in straight lines. Also you need to constantly knead the clay, this helps keep a less dirty part of the clay exposed so that it won't make any fine scratches in the paint. Do this only after washing the car. Usually wash again once after. Then waxing after is important.

Good luck

I use and swear by the Zaino line of products, the z5 swirl remover works great on black cars
