3300 miles here. It has gotten about 350 since I got it day one.

Bad MPG

I have an '05 AT Coupe with 7,000 MI and get any where in between 14.6-16.2 MPG, I noticed reading this thread that this is very low, I always use 93 octane. Any ideas on what I should do? :

I would invest in oil and gas futures... It will help offset the cost by making about 50% profit in 6 months.

I have an 05 x sedan and I drive mostly highway and get 23.

I've read it's best to not let your car run below 1/4 of a tank because you will have dirty fuel closer to the bottom. Is there any truth to this?

Not really. True, any junk will settle at the bottom but that's what filters are for.

I am averaging about 16 City MPG with my 05 G35 Automatic. There is a huge difference between it and what I used to get in my 2002 manual transmission BMW 330i. I once averaged 32.2 MPG in it from Knoxville to Raleigh approximately 381 miles(Downhill though)! The trip computer indicated that I would have been able to get about 525 miles on 16.2 gallons of gas! That was astounding. However, I love every minute that I am wasting gas in my G35. I couldn’t say that about the 330i. To each his own.

Hey how many miles do you have on your car? After about 5000 miles, I noticed a rather large improvement on my G-= In the City: I went from 16mpg new, to more like 19mpg today.

here are some other tips for saving fuel i found on my home page today.
my 2nd measured tank of gas only yieleded me 19.46 MPG. i must have driven a few more highway miles with the first tank. ironically i had a higher grade gas in the car on the 2nd measured tank.

FYI- i have 10k miles on the car.
