$324 is highway robbery. You can get H&R springs for the G35 from the Tirerack for $242. Stillen is a rip-off artist.

IMO, there was never an issue of springs for the X. People have been using Teins and H&R for a while now. The big issue is shocks. As of now, there are no sport shocks available for the X. The front suspension is the issue here. IMO, lowering'performance springs are of limited value when used with stock struts. I'm still waiting for Tokico to get some D-Specs ready for the X. Until then, I am staying with stock ride height.

And I thought, when you said "Finally springs for the X" you meant that you finally bought an X! I don't think about getting new springs much, I guess.

There was always an issue when it came to springs for the X. Half a$$ing it by putting springs on from the RWD sedan is not considered properly lowering your car. You might as well cut the stock springs and still get the same result.
Its not about the ride height. Its about safety. If you put a spring on that was not designed for a certain application and the spring rate can not handle the added weight you will make the shocks work harder. Hence the bouncy ride. The bouncy ride will just get worse over time and eventually blow your shocks and that is an accident waiting to happen.

Have a nice day.

I hear what you're saying re: weight but we're talking just under 300 pounds here or driving my Aunt Mildred around. A lot of weight to be sure but I don't think the X'ers who've dropped are racing with the Devil or anything. I won't drop mine til the setups right but I definitely understand those who have grown impatient. I mean, I love my car and all, but holy wheel gap Batman.

H&R's site has the part number (the one that Stillen shows) for their FX35 spring solution.

Your Aunt Mildred is nicely situated inside the cabin and her weight(whatever it may be) is distributed almost evenly between front and rear suspension.
The added weight of the tranny is only supported by the front suspension.

I had my suspension on my race car setup by a professional shop and it was almost perfect. Well over one of the winters I transferred my 30lb battery to the trunk so I could make more room up front for larger I/C piping. The car was out of control after that. And thats only 30lbs. After a couple of adjustments it was all good again, but the first turn I took @ 120mph almost made me crap my pants. I almost went BYE BYE!!

True. However pls note that H&R 's own site does not mention the X factor.
I am more inclined to believe that Stillen f'd up their listing and it is not for the X at all but the RWD.

Some good points particularly re: weight vs. weight distribution. Therefore I am recommending that members driving lowered X's take corners at 120 mph only when necessary, and when wearing Depends undergarments. Modders you've been warned.

PS. I have fond memories of breakin loose in a 68 Chevelle SS 396 whenever the trunk was loaded. It didn't need the trunk loaded mind you, but it sure got goofy when it was. We won't talk about what that car got sold for many years ago - particularly in light of prices I have seen nowadays at the Barrett-Jackson auction.

Gee you'd think with Stillen's pricing they could get decent help with their site.
