Considering my premium for my 05 g35 sedan I would say that it is classified as a sports sedan aka "sports car."

I don't think so. I am 33 with a good record and live in a high car insurance county. After adding my G and dropping my old, worthless truck, I was only paying a few hundred more every 6 months.

I think the average age of the sedan driver is much more than the coupe so the sedan can fly under the radar. Yet, another reason to drive the sedan over the coupe.

I just went from a 01 Honda V6 Accord Sedan, loaded, to an 05 6mt G35 Sedan, I live in Indianapolis, 1 ticket 5 years ago, 34 years old.

Honda Accord Rate per month- $50.25
G35 Rate per month-$61.00

Not too bad.

Do you guys think G35 costs much more to insurance then an 04 Maxima SE? Or only about 10 or 20 dollars more? Thanks

Go to an online insurance retailer such as progressive or geico, and get online quotes. It takes a few minutes, but is probably much more accurate than asking us.

The only way to know for sure is call your agent. All these people whose rates have increased or decreased have so many variables that any guidance received is sketchy at best.

For example - I traded out of a 1998 Maxima and my rates dropped. For me, that was a good thing, for you - it means nothing.

You guys suck! Try coming to Los Angeles to insure your car! The quote I have for insuring my soon-to-come G sedan is $1,014 for a 6 month term. I am 35 and have no accidents or tickets and my ins co is reputable (21st Century).

Granted, this is for the higher coverage required for a lease, but still... OUCH. And yes, I was told it was so high because it is a "high performance vehicle".

Come to Corpus Christi, TX. It's just as bad (believe it or not) or worse.

I hate to burst a theory here but:

I just switched from a 2004 G35 6mt Coupe to a 2005 G35 6mt Sedan and my insurance actually went up $200.00 per year.

Called the insurance company and said it has to do with a number of factors, based on those factors they assign each car and model with a risk number.

I have no points, married and over 30.

No rhyme or reason.

Yeah, must be all us married guys driving like bats outta hell with our kids strapped in their car seats in the back! LOL.

Makes no sense, but once the insurance industry puts a rating on a car, there isn't a whole lot you can do to get around it.

scdgoofy, try look into other insurance companies. 21st is ridiculously high. They kept increasing my rate eventhough I have clean record. I am 33 and married. I didn't renew after they gave me some bullsh!t reason like "because of the increase of insurance fraud..." crap.
I have Mercury now and I am only paying $700/yr (full, max coverage as a 2nd car).

How is that possible? I'm 25..no accidents..no ticket and live nw burbs of chicago..and you pay less than I do? I had State Farm originally...switched over to AllState a few years back because of the rate hikes.
