When I gave my G Sedan to my wife and got a coupe by getting rid of 02 G20, the insurance only went up $200/year. Very minimal increase IMO.

Just in case you didn't figure it out from all of the replies, the answer is that you need to check with your insurance company (and possibly other companies). I found that for me (with Nationwide) insurance on a G35 sedan was no more expensive than on a Maxima or V6 Accord or Camry.

Insurance companies don't price the same. One company might want to jack up your rates on a G35 coupe but not on a G35 sedan....someone here claimed their company does just the opposite. Shop around and you should be able to find relatively reasonable insurance rates on a G35.

Spent 10 years as an insurance adjuster. The above is pretty much bang on. Premiums for vehicles are based entirely on the loss experience for the vehicle. That includes how prone they are to break-in and theft. The reason cars like a Mustang GT are so expensive to insure is that they get in more high speed accidents that mini-vans and therefore cost more to repair and cause more injury claims. SUV's are particularly succeptible to the latter given their comparative size.

And yes, I'm a newbie around here ... just put a $500 deposit on a G35 M6 today.

Insurance prices

I live in Kansas, and pay $800 a year on an 05 sedan--40 years old, married, no tickets, and a 19 year old also on the family policy.

Thanks ... it was the last MT in Western Canada so I put the hold on it. Now have to see what my bank says (can't see it being a problem ... they co-own my home too ... lol)

In BC, the insurance market is kind of unique. A government owned Crown Corporation has a statutory monopoly on basic auto ($200K liability, accident benefits, hit & run coverage, etc). Open competition exists on optional insurance (collision, comp, excess liability, etc). For a variety of reasons, the Crown Corp has about 85% of that market as well. I worked for them for about 10 years in various adjusting roles. Largest P&C carrier in Canada, but no one outside BC would ever have heard of them.

Approximately $117/month for a 2004 G35 sedan, and 1997 F150. Single, upper 30s, Oklahoma, clean claim history.

A small discount for also having homeowner insurance through State Farm.

Also, the truck is on the under 7500/year plan. Drive my car over that, or I would swap them

$194/month... Bought my 03 Sedan in April of this year, wasn't even allowed to drive it off the lot because I had 3 speeding tickets and a suspended license at the time
