$4500/yr for insurance!!!!!!
$4500/yr for insurance!!!!!!
I just got a quote from my insurance agent. He said the car is listed as high performance car and for a 24 yr old male, clean record(1 speeding ticket 4 yrs ago), 8 yrs under same insurance company, it'll cost me $4500 a yr to insure an 05 G35x..... That sounds crazy high to me.... do u guys all pay that???
Get a new insurance company now!!! That is ridiculous..you even have the sedan with all wheel drive...I'm only 22 and pay less than a third of that with my coupe. Search the web...
15 minutes can save you 15% or more on car insurance

That is ridiculously high!!!! I'm not sure what state you're in but in CA moving violations only stay on your MVR for 3 years, so a ticket 4 years ago wouldn’t matter... I pay a little over $1200 (clean record & older than you)... CA is generally higher than most other states.
I suggest changing insurers. Try Wawaneesa - they are in San Diego but you can do everything over the phone. You may have never heard of them, but they insure Commercial Motor Carriers and are very reputable. The only problem is they will NOT take high-risk clients: such as poor driving records, new drivers, etc... They have great rates if you qualify. I had them for several years but for some reason when I got the G their quote was a little higher than Mercury, which is who I have now.
Depending on where you live I would imagine $1500 or lower should be feasible.

That is absolutely insane! I don't know about your state, but my rates went way down when I was 21. Try at least 3 other insurers. If everyone is on the high side, you can reduce the rates by taking defensive driving, increasing deductables, etc.

I am in NY, 34, married, 2 cars, clean driving record, and it costs me $1700 per year for full coverage on my 04 X. My insurance company does not classify the 04 X as high performance. In fact, the G35 costs less than $400 more per year than the same coverage on my 98 Civic.
I know NJ has high insurance rates but you should be able to get something closer to $2000 if you look around. Keep in mind that in many states insurers hit men with higher rates until the first billing cycle after their 26th birthday so you may not see any relief until then.

Hmmm... Try Progressive. I had a speeding ticket just over three years ago, and was worried about how that would affect my insurance rates when I bought my car in July. It turns out that Progressive only looks at the last 35 months of your driving record, so I waited a couple weeks to make sure I was out of the 35 month window (If you apply online, Progressive tells you when you're ticket was, so you can figure it from there...). I'm 25, married, and live in a state where supposedly, 50% of motorists are uninsured, and my insurance costs are less than $1700 per year for both myself and my wife on our G35 and a Civic...

I know what you mean.
I'm in jersey also and was quoted $4,100 on my G35.
I have a 5 point ticket that wont go away(3yrs) until oct,2006.
Everywhere i looked it was high plus being 30+ didn't help me since they said i was getting penalised not only for the points
but also because i was a first time insurer.
I looked thru my job benefits and we have a group policy thru metlife.
They gave me a good deal 1,300 for six months that would come out as 2,600 a year.
I can't wait for Oct, 2006 and see how much my insurance will be then.
I hope you find a deal cause jersey is raping its drivers for insurance.
Have you looked into liberty insurance?
Anyone knows if you stay with the same insurance once the points are out of the 3yr review period will they make the proper adjustments or do you have to start shopping around again??

When I was 23, I think I was paying about $1200/yr for a toyota celica in so cal for full coverage. For whatever reason, when you hit 25 years old, my rates droped significantly. But you had to ask them to drop your rates.
How high is your deductible? If you raise the deductible will your rate go down? Good luck
