Factory dual exhaust on 03 (pic)
I noticed this a few years back, but I've never read about anyone mentioning this. Ever wonder why exhaust resonator is so strange looking, especially the 03/04 resonator? It's because a second exhaust pipe was suppose to exit the passenger side of the resonator and go to a muffler on the passenger side. Take a look at the picture. The pic came from the 2003 Car of the Year issue of Motor Trend when the G35 took the prize.

On a whim one night, I removed the passenger side underbody panels by the trunk to see if I could see exhaust hanger points. No dice, the only thing there is the fuel tank charcoal canister and solenoid. For whatever reason, a fake dual exhaust system never made the cut on the sedan. Most likely it was done for cost savings.

Well, they sure mention it in the top left corner of the scanned image. Plus, it could have been an official photo released from Infiniti, even if it wasn't available in showrooms yet.
umm, u know that pic was not first released with that magazine. that pic has been floating around back in 2001. it was from pre-production V35 sedan. the coupe was not even announced till mid 2002
