Picked up my 05 G35X on Monday. Diamond Graphite/Graphite w/Premium C.
This car is a dream to drive! I looked at the A4 (too small), A6 (too much), 330i (RWD only), and the TL (FWD only) and the G beats all of them across the board in style, power, performance, features and value.
I am really impressed with the trans. I drove 5- and 6-speeds all my life and was reluctant to go to a tip until I drove this car. On other tiptronics, I always felt like I was not shifting gears, but rather 'making suggestions' as to what gear I wanted. This car shifts smooth, very quick, and stays in gear at high rpms (doesn't upshift automatically) to keep all that HP and TQ available. It is taking a LOT of restraint on my part to keep it under 4000 RPMs for the break-in!
I really want to thank the members of this forum for answering my questions and helping me make the right decision to buy this car. This is a fantastic community and I look forward to contributing!
Thanks,
