Replacing tires

Can anyone please tell me what tires you replace on the 2004 sedan? I have 42K, thanks to Torenza ran only 12K, terribel tires, and just got 4 Avon tyres, run good, but where the wall joins the tread has a chew up marks all around, see attached picture, tirerack told me they contact the manufacturor, there is no safety issue, it is becasue of the mold design, and I think it is not, why would you design the tire mold leaves you such chew up marks around the exterior side, so I am thinking what other tires should I get beside GSD, any adivses are greatly appreciate....thanks ahead

A closeup / larger pic might help, I can't see anything wrong there.
