I was just sitting back thinking about all of the competitors out there with their special edition sport sedans. If you were the CEO of Infiniti what would you do to the G to enable it to compete with other "super" sport sedans? What would you call it?
If it were me, I would:
Somehow shoe-horn the same 4.5 liter V8 that's in the Q45 into the G35, tune it to produce 350 HP,and 345 lbs torque. I would of course make it AWD, as well as a 6 speed manual. I'd also increase the wheels to 18". Brembos would most definitely be standard.
It would be called the Infiniti GSS.......coming to a dealer near you.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Infiniti create a monster just to stay ahead of the pack. The G35 has put Infiniti on the map when it comes to being a serious contender in the sports sedan category. Hell, it's probably fair to say that the G35 put Infiniti on the map, period. Now would be the prime time to come out a "super sedan" of their own.

A great idea!

If a V-8 won't fit in the GSS, I'd settle for the G's V-6 with dual turbos at 325-350HP. The advantage would be less overall weight and better front to rear balance.

 

I have to agree with you DaveO. I think they should come out with a twin turbo AWD version and call it a "Spec V" or something along the lines of what a hopped up Skyline model might be titled.

 

It is already on the way, if you go to Nissan USA.com they will show some pictures of what is to come. They will show you a car that is called a GTR, same tailights as the Skyline. They do not mention any numbers but if it is called a GTR I can only assume it will be there to play with the M3.

I posted this last week..."One more thing,, i know im friggen dreaming on this one but the should make a G35R with a V8 or some sick TT action... this is the 18yearold side of me thats letting the imagination get the best of him but still that would be completely nuts..." and u know something, infinti should def do that so i can buy an even sicker car than the one that i have when i get outa college....
