Rear Tail Lights Overlays for SEDAN

I wanted to see some pics of the black overlays for sedan.

Ran a search...but all the pics are dead.

If any of you guys with them could post up some pics I would be very grateful!

Thanks guys...

Are you sure the 03/04's wouldn't fit on the 05????

It might be a different design, but isn't it the same size?

The Trunk backup light would work, but not the taillight part. Due to the fact the tail lights now have the round part sticking out somewhat on the wides. I will see if I can post a picture in a bit.

On this picture above you see how the tail-lights stick out the sides of the lense a bit. The 2003-04 didn't do this.

Yea, I see what you mean, the 04 size wouldn't fit. Blacked out tail lights on a black car look realy nice IMO. I'm sure you've thought about spraying them black, but putting a vinyl overlay on is so much better than doing that.

I'm not sure how they would look on my car...sedan in Carribbean Blue.
They look nice on the coupe tho, not sure about 4 door.

Here ya go... it's an '04 though. The round outer edge on the 05's make it harder to cut the vinyl to shape. I think he would have to do three instead of two pieces. PM Andy: bluebatmobile or email him from his website and ask if he has '05's in the works. I presume you have an '05 since that's the direction this thread has gone.

The same effect could easily be achieved with $10 can of translucent smoke paint. It only takes two light coats of paint to achieve the desired smoked out look. The great thing is 95% of the OEM light still shines through. I did this to my Maxima and it lasted for years. If you mess up, acetone (fingernail polish), will remove the paint but won't cloud the plastic like paint thinner will.

The only problem with that is it gets a dull finish when you spray the lights and if needed to be removed it could damage the lights.

Clear coat fixes the slightly dull finish. As for removal, acetone. It will remove the paint, don't won't ruin the finish or clarity of the lenses.

Applying heat with a hairdryer to help the vinyl strech might make it work for the 05's. Anyone wanna give it a shot? I'll give a discount of $5 off the price of the taillight kit if anyone wants to give it a shot. Email me:

I have an 05 but didn't get a discount??? I just received them and stated that I needed overlays for an 05. I hope they fit as that will be a bunch of wasted money if they don't fit. Please assist
