It was lame, for sure. Mitsubishi has made a long line of lame cars, and it's a shame. I talked to a Mitsubishi factory rep the other day, and he said that if the new '06 Eclipse GT doesn't sell far and away more than the 2004-2005 models did...it's pretty much the end for Mitsubishi, as least here in the states. The EVO is cool, but is a niche car to say the least.

When some places only charge $0.10/gal diff between 87 and 91, and others charge $0.20/gal diff, you can tell there is a lot of room for marking up the price on premium.

A little more expensive, due to extra oil used. Now, the $0.20/gal may be more realistic, but when it was $1.10 and $1.30, and much of that taxes, you could tell it was mostly profit on people buying better gas than they need.

You guys convinced me. I filled up with 91 octance and it IS only a couple of bucks more. I'll go through a tank of gas, refill and look for changes in response.
Also, AKG35X and JawJaw mentioned downshifting. Certainly worth trying the manumatic in stop n go. That makes sense too.
Thanks to all for your input.

Gas around here is priced mostly in $.10 increments, re: $2.99 86, $3.09 88, $3.19 90-91 FYI.

Thats a generic avatar I picked out just to be different (for now).
The pic is so small its hard to see the grill to tell whether it is a Challenger or a Cuda. WTH, I'm calling it a Plumb Crazy Hemi-Cuda!

OK---- Mrbig says its a Challenger based on the full size pic. That was my first hunch too. My favorite muscle cars are the 70-71 Challenger and the 71 Cuda both with the shaker hoods!!

I agree, if I had the $$$ I would have a '70 Challenger with a hemi sitting in my garage.
