Question What's your take on new Lexus IS 350?

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=2671

Doesn't look too bad and I would consider it over the BMW 3 series. I also like the F1 paddle like shifting.
HP: 306
Trq: 277
Price (estimated): $ 34,000

Tried to upload some pics but not sure how to do so.

It has a small resemblance of the Corolla in there. Don't you folks think so?

Just from what I've seen, if I had to buy either the IS or the 3 series, I would probably just go with the IS250. Cheaper than the IS350, should be more reliable than the 3 series, and I've driven Toyota's in the past so the drive should be comfortable for me.

I suspect that the power of the IS250 is probably good enough for me too. Which is why if we were talking about the M, I would probably go with the M35X and not the M45.

Can't wait to drive one to see what they are really like, and see what the real price going off the lot would be.

Tired of all the hype - ready to see what the numbers are in the real world.

Very nice car - if not a little antiseptic.

It may just be me, but the new lexi look more like bmw / german styling than before. Lexus are #1 for reliablity (or something high) so that should be a good selling factor for them compared to bmw. Personally I prefer the G styling and PRICE, although lexus interior is probably nicer and loaded with gadgets, I do enjoy the simplicity of the G since it seems to be more driver orientated (as opposed to being a 50 yr old man in a crisis :-P). just my .02

On Oct. 1 I'm going to a Lexus IS350 intro and autocross event. I'll post my review just like I did when I went to the BMW 330 intro and autocross event.

The IS350 has already been discussed to death IMO. Until we see official pricing and more test drives, there is not much else to discuss. Although, I did find this in the coupe forum. I think it's just a photoshop but looks pretty good. While I think the G35 looks best as a 4 door, I think the IS looks better as a 2 door.

Basically my take on the new IS350 is that I would prefer to have it over the 2005 G35 that I have. My decision to buy the G35 was obviously based on price as I considered waiting for the IS350 to come out but I realized it was gonna cost me something like $8K more.

The IS350 interior blows away the G35 in my opinion and I am sure the performance will be just as good if not better. Those new specs look great and I am sure Lexus will not dissapoint as they have hyped this car so much and have made it very clear what their intentions were in creating the car.

I'd rather have Mark Levinson's wife in my car (Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame)

Give it a manual transmission and knock $6k off the price, and then I'd CONSIDER it.

How much will that option cost? I guess that option only comes on the super ultra limited edition model since there is only one Kim Cattrall!
