clutch is hard

MT owners, do you feel that the clutch is not as soft as the other cars and is pretty hard, recently i test drove a TL and the clutch was butter smooth but otherwise felt the TL to be awfully bad compared to the G

Opinon please

It's all relative...

After driving a Honda Civic, yes, it might feel a little stiff.
After driving a Land Rover Defender 90, no, doesn't feel stiff at all.

It will get better over time as you break it in.

Actually, I have commented that I thought the G's clutch was too light . . . If I understand you correctly.

Mine feels smoother after 4000 miles. Now stiff is what I had in my '72 Nova with a competition clutch, I developed some serious thigh muscles driving that thing.

The TL's clutch is VERY light and provides absoltuely no resistance when depressed. I test drove a friend's car and stalled at least half a dozen times before I could figure how to shift properly.

In contrast the G's clutch was felt heavy enough and provided the right amount of resistance and I never felt that I was going to stall.

Regards

I don't own a m/t G but I test drove one this past weekend. To me it's pretty stiff. What's funny is I drove my accord last night and when I stepped into the clutch it was so light. I quickly opened the hood and checked the clutch fluid to make sure it's not low or something. Then I walked back into the car and said to myself "wait something is wrong". Then I finally figured it out...it was the G...haha

The clutch is a bit more sprung than a typical Honda econo but not too tough IMO. If you are not happy with it, you can adjust it to some degree.

The 05 is actually much lighter than the 03/04s, and lighter than the typical Maxima Altima setup as well. I think it's just about perfect.

However, the Honda/Acura is definitely just about as smooth & light as it gets, so it's certainly a difference.

it get's lighter the more you driver i noticed in my coupe.
off topic, but does anyone else's make noise when cold starting the car. I push in the clutch and turn the ignition put into neutral and let off the clutch. it sounds as though it's not fully disengaged because when i push it in, the noise goes away

I drove an 05 a couple months ago and my only complaint was that the clutch felt softer. If I want a soft clutch I'll buy a Honda!

I've never had a problem with the clutch in my 6MT. I did adjust it to get rid of some play at the bottom.

Now the gearbox? Yeah. That sucked. Especially 2nd gear.
It's finally loosening up after about 2K miles. But it could still be looser and based on the wear so far it will be. I can't slap it around yet which is what I want. Nothing to do with the clutch though.

I got around 2k on my 05, the clutch definatelly got softer.. either that or i grew some extra muscles in my left leg ... I do like it the way it is now, but it probably will get a bit softer.
