Install a portable LCD DVD in my car
Install a portable LCD DVD in my car
Hi all,
I bought a Initial brand, 5.8" LCD screen with DVD (MP3, CD-R) player from Circuit city. It came with a wireless remote control, a cigarette lighter adapter, an AC power cord, and a 3 hours rechargable battery.
It displays a wide-screen picture beautifully, for less than $300 with a 3 years fully extended warranty.
I boost up the sound using the wireless radio frequency transmitter. You plug this transmitter to the headset outlet on the DVD, switch to any of the 4 FM stations on the transmitter and tune your car radio to that station. Whoala!!!, you have surround sound theater in your car. This transmitter I bought from Circuit City for $29. Now my wife and kids can watch DVD in all the cars we have, as well as in the house or at the camping ground.

Use a piece of velcro bought from homedepot, to attach it. Put it away when not in use. Don't put it on the top where the airbag is located. It may against the state law where you live if you install it where can be seen by the driver.
All of this for less than 5 minutes.

Re: Install a portable LCD DVD in my car
When you use velcro to keep the unit in place, just be careful when you take the velcro off. Hopefully, I will come up with a better way to keep it in place later, but for know Velcro would do. Just don't install it on the seat leather.
Homedepot sell variety of velcrol, I got the expensive type, hard to seperate them. It is in silver color, enough for my 4 cars for around $3.
