I find this really hard to believe because mine was 29,5k and that was 500 under dealer cost.

This pricing argument is like comparing dynos. It's all relative to where you live. Yes, it appears used G35s sell for higher prices in the Midwest compared to Cali or the NE. We also typically pay more for a new G35. I live in Johnson County, KS which is the richest county in the Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri metro area and is actually one of the richer counties in the country. For whatever reason, there aren't many Gs around here. There are only 2 million of us here in KC and the closest major cities are 150+ miles. Between the cities is farmland and families with low income. In the Northeast, people are paid 30-40% more, they don't save as much because they they pay 100-200% more for similar sized/age homes, there's a hell of a lot more people, Northeasterners typically have a higher standard of living (fancy clothes, appliances, cars) and the cities are all in close proximity. In the end, there are a crap load more new and used Gs to buy.

Supply and demand people.

Wow I must say that I didn’t realize how inexpensive the 6-speed G35 Sedan’s really are. I looked up the invoice price for an absolutely base G35 sedan and it is actually $28,288! So with the $1000 rebate that would bring it pretty close to $27K!. Man I would have loved to see C&D try say that a $42K BMW 330i is better than a $27K G35. $15K is a whole car! I looked at the invoice for a 6-speed G35 with the Premium and Aero packages. It climbs all the way to $32,086! What exactly does your $4000 get you with those two packages? Check the KBB private party value of a base model 05 G35 Sedan right now. Currently in my area the KBB Private party value is $30,355! The trade-in value is $27,275! I bet places like carmax could be fooled into giving you more than you paid for the vehicle. They simply look at the KBB value and then pretty much quote you that price if your car is in great shape. I would expect an 05 to still be in great shape. Has anyone tried to see what Carmax will give them for their 05 6-speed sedan. It is free and painless to get a quote from them. They don’t pressure you in anyway. Or at least the one in my area never has. I would be really interested to see what they say. I haven’t taken my car there because I know what they will say. They would not give me anymore than $28,250 for mine because it is an almost loaded automatic. They give me almost no credit for those extra features. That is why I am leasing instead of buying. There is no way my particular car is going to hold its value as well as I would want it to. You guys with base model 6 speeds might be in good shape though!

Sell it fast $23k, sit on it for 3-6 weeks you will probably get $26k for it. It's just a matter of finding a person who wants exactly what you got.

I know when I go car shopping if they got the exact car im looking for im willing to pay top $$$, but lets say its the car i wanted except wrong color then I will try and get them to lower the price enough to tempt me into buying it since its not the right color.

So if you want top $$$ you have to wait it out.

Ummm, mine is a base except sunroof. 6mt with sunroof INVOICE is 29,9k~ MMine was 29,5k. I just verified it again on edmunds and kbb.com. So I dunno where your getting your 28,2k from.

Go back and check how much they charged you for that sunroof! I bet it was about $1000. That is why there is a difference! Here are your car's prices in my area(Cary North Carolina)
MSRP Invoice TMV
$32,360 $29,760 $30,327

Here is a "TRUE" base model with no options which is what I was quoting earlier.
MSRP Invoice TMV
$31,360 $28,898 $29,435

The earlier price did not include the destination charge. That is where the $28.2K came from. That sunroof makes a big difference!

It looks like the KBB pricing is off because they assume that all G35's have a sunroof. The default is to turn on the sunroof option. They credit you $1000 for this option which is full price. So that looks like where all of this comes from. If you took a G35 without a sunroof into carmax they would probably quote you based on a car that had that $1000 option. If they didn't realize it then you could make a pretty nice chunk of change.

I picked up my car 3 weeks ago. It had 8 miles on the odometer with all the protective stickers still on. It was a pleasure dealing with the internet manager. Very professional and honest. I was actually toying with the idea of selling my G, since I'm getting the dreaded uncomfortable seat problem. The problem is that I paid $30,200 OTD. The KBB value for a 05 G with 600 miles is $28.2K. I'm still losing $2K thanks to CA's tax. You can buy a G for $28.2K without haggling in Socal. Just go to carsdirect and enter zip 92840. RL prices are pretty low too IIRC.

EDIT: I bought this car with a 36month loan at 1.99% APR . So technically I got both the low APR and the dealer rebate
