The hardest part about doing brakes is the rotors. If you take them off you have to repack the bearings (not hard just messy), change the bearing seal, then put the rotor back on, being careful not to tighten the nut to much or to little (this is the tricky part).

This is the second time they are replacing the brake rotors, the first time we contacted Infiniti Corporate and complained and got that cost reimbursed. Then they did that one time recall.

Anyone have any recommendations or information on any of the above?
I just priced out pads F&R (Satisfied pro ceramics) and Frozen Rotors (4) at Tire Rack for $600. I install them myself---Free.

Infiniti replaced my belt for free under the A/C TSB when it was squealing. But I would take it to an independent shop for <$.

I didn't know the rear end had adj alignment in the rear.

Sorry if I confused anyone about the rotor procedures here, I'm used to working on old American cars, when I really looked into what the rotor looks like for the G I found out that it just slides over the wheel lugs. This is even easier that you can imagine, all you have to do it remove bolts for the caliper and pull that off then the rotor should just slide off, if not spray some WD40 on the center hub and give a few whacks around the bolts with a "brass" hammer, this should knock it loose. Slide the new rotor on, push the piston(s) back and put new pads on the reattach the rotor. Easy as pie, should only take 1/2 hour or so per wheel. I almost can't wait to change brakes now, well maybe a little while .

I was just about to comment on that. This is one of the few areas on cars where things have become much easier. The one thing I love with some of the older classics was being able to practically stand in the engine bay while working on something. These days you need to be built like a midget or you're coming up with some cuts on those mitts.

You might want to check out RacingBrake. Their top of the line replacement rotors and Hawk HPS pads would run $580. I've been running their G35/350Z Big Brake Kit since June... it's an awesome setup.

Since you're in the Tampa area, I suggest going over to Clearwater and trying out Lokey Infiniti (west side of US 19 just south of SR 60) and getting an estimate from them.

On another note, Lokey is going to do the following things to my Coupe on Friday, total cost will be $1900 (parts & labor), and they will not void the warranty on the car.

-Install Crawford cast plenum
-Install Crawford high-flow cats
-Install Tein H-Tech for 350Z springs
-Install Grounding Gear 8-wire kit (brought with)
-Fix slow leak in right rear tire
-Swap tires L&R, and alignment job
