Help me choose an Enkei.........

OK, I'm 95% certain I'm going to replace my stock 18" sport rims with something a tad wider and, ideally, lighter. After doing quite a bit of looking, I've become enamoured with the Enkei Racing Series offerings - nice looking, light and reasonably priced.

Now I need some help deciding - which of these will look best on my Brilliant Silver sedan? In general, I like silver painted wheels, but can someone explain to me the concept of hyper black? I see a lot of wheels with this description. The RPM2 below is hyper black, the others are silver. How would hb look on a silver car? I know this is all subjective, but please weigh in. Thanks! -T

I like the third wheel the most. HB is a hard color to explain. Its kinda like a silver and black mixed. I think it would look awsome on your silver sedan. I would go with the 3rd or 4th wheel depending how you like your look. The 3rd is more classy/sporty and the 4th is more of a race looking wheel. just my $.02

Hyper black without a lip doesn't look right because there is absolutely no contrast between the tire and wheel. It basically looks like the car is on black steel wheels. Take a look for yourself here, look at post 7.

Personnally, the RPO3s are the best. There are a few guys in here that have them and they're dead sexy. The spoke design really curves inwards towards. The picture doesn't do them justice at all.

The 2nd one looks a bit like the 03/04 sports rims but for some reason I like that the most. I like the 3rd one also, that's a classic that is always popular.

I actually like them all except the five spoke. For some reason I don't like those wheels at all. I know they are classic, but they just don't do it for me.

These all weigh right around 19lbs in 18x8 or 18x8.5.

Thanks, Teeter. I went on Enkei's site and that's exactly what they said. 19 lbs is pretty good for an 18. Two questions....what do the stock 17's and 18's weigh, if anyone knows, and where are you guys finding the RPM2's ? I went to discounttiredirect and they have Enkei's but not that model.

Thanks.

EdgeRacing.com carries all the Enkei racing series wheels at good prices. As for the stock weights, lore has it that the '05 18" Sport rims weigh roughly 22 lbs. Not sure about the stock 17's. T

Well, you can see in my sig that i indeed have the 3rd one
in gunmetal color.. and they are very light too.. (19.4 lbs
per rim in 18 x 8)

However, in terms of look, i would recommend you to get
the second one. One of our fellow members have that in his
show car.. and it looks freaking awesome with his sedan.

cheers,
Godmans

Any pix of your car or your buddy's with the Enkei's? (The toughest part about choosing is not being able to see the rims on your car until you buy them. )

Tell me the RPO3s aren't dead sexy. They've got a timeless and clean design plus they're light and strong. Don't get "hyper" colored wheels. It's a fad and 1 year from now you'll have to be buying another set of rims.

Look good. Only problem is every other swinging d!ck in town has 5 spokes. Some people are looking for something that won't be seen at every light.
