has anyone "tried" to fit 9" wide wheels in the front?

can it be done?
if so, with what offset?
i have done many searches, and no one on this forum has done it.
just wondering is it because it can't be done? or is it because everyone said 8.5" is the widest for the front (no offense to anyone).
asking all wheel experts (chico/skeleton/anyone else).

note: the car will be on coilovers, so ride height is not a problem.

thanks everyone,

ben

Yes it can be done. You can go with +35 to +38 no less. You can still mount the 245/35 tire on it, but it will look a tiny bit stretched. On a 9" wheel you can also go with 255/35, but it will be approx 0.20" closer to the fender line than the 245 tire.

If you're gonna use same size all around, it will be as close as you can get to the fenders.

I have done it, it has been done!

I am running a 19x9 in the front with a +42 offset i'm running 235.35.19 with NO rubbing issues,

Dont be afraid to try stuff that no one has done before, just make sure you ask the REAL experts (RAYS in my case) and they will tell you what will fit and what wont.
i'll post pics next week

ha, ha!! That's true he should double check every bit of info he gets on this board or any other. But I am confident in my recommendation.

As for the "REAL" experts being RAYS (Mackin Ind. in the USA), they will tell you what's on a chart in front of them, which is ALWAYS the most conservative measurements. Your set up is a good example.

If he gets the specs I recommended above he will have a more agressive stance than that of Rays recommends.

I hope they didn't recommend your tires.

LOL.....

i was about to say 235 is kinda small with the 9" rim! my 245 on a 9.5 are WAY too small for that rim....

good point...that size tire on that rim provides NO lip protection and looks way too stretched.

I am simply stating facts that I know. Anytime someone seeks my advice I rely on my own knowledge and information about the specific car, instead of second hand info from a source (Mackin) that sells to everybody and whom have no interest in whether or not the buyer likes the look of their recommended set up as long as they can say "IT FITS".

Relax!!!....I am not saying your set up is wrong or bad. Obviously you're happy and works for you. I am simply suggesting the BEST possible specs for him.

here's the wheel and some pictures: advan racing rs
the specs are 19x9 with +38, they come in gold, silver, dark gunmetal and chrome, i'm thinking about the gold or the gunmetal.
i don't care much about deep dish or staggered wheels, or the bling, i saw a 350z with these in a japanese video, and i fell in love, plus as much as i love volks, there are just too many people running them, so i searched and searched and found that these are the ones mounted on the z i saw in the video, i'm still searching for the weight and the best prices. thanks for the info/feedback eveyone.

Why are you acting like a jack@ss??? Chico never said it could not be done, he actually said it could. He just suggested a different offset and gave the reason why.

You're right, we don't know everything. But we do try and share what we do know with the other members here. If you don't like our advice then don't take it.
