Door handle rattles from playing music

When I set my bass to +1 or +2, and volume to 13, my right side front door rattles loud enough to deliver to the car driver next to me...not to be embrassed, I lower my volume when it happened, or I have to set bass to 0 or lower, anyone experienced it??? any advises is greatly appreciated, thanks.

You are not alone. I have gone to the dealer for the rattles 3x and I still have rattles. The best way to get rid of these rattles is to take the door apart and add foams such as weatherstrips found at home depot.

You could try taking the bass out of your speakers and adding a sub in the trunk. 1 of my inside door panels used to rattle when I turned the bass up in my stock speakers but not at all after tuning the bass down and adding a sub. It sounds much better too as the stock speakers aren't trying to do too much.

jl9618 what type of sub did you add and what method? (just curious - stock or aftermarket headunit / high level input etc).

OK, I took my car to the dealer and they told me to lower the bass to kill the rattle, I am like yeah right, so what do they design something like that? anyway, I don't think they will put in felt tape for me, so maybe wait until I save enough money for a nice sound system, then I wil have the sound guy to insulate the door panel or something, at least I am not alone, thanks for the helpful tips, guys....

adjusting the fade setting one or two settings towards the rear speakers seem to help a little.

You're defintely not the only one in this dept....I've taken my car in 3x's also..and they have yet to fix it. This seems to be a 'standard' for lack of a better word for this car sadly.

I'm only running the sub setup from my previous car. 2 12 inch Alpine Type R's in a spec built, sealed box powered by a Fosgate BD1000 Class D amp with in cabin bass remote and a 1 Farad cap. My regular installer did the work and it was one of a few add ons you can do with the factory head unit without opening up a can of worms and spending some cash.

In my old car I had the same setup in addition to a pretty cool Pioneer HU, 12 disc Voice activated CD changer, Boston Acoustic components in the front and Boston 6X9 in the rear powered by two more Fosgate Amps.

I think the stock system sounds muddy because the speakers are trying to do too much. By going to an alternate bass setup and upping your treble you can somewhat compensate.
