I will switch to Mobil 5W30 synthetic when it hit 3750 miles. My neighbor own a car shop he probably going charge me $10-15 for the labor.

Spreadsheet info is in there. But the whole thread is good read. The good thing about it is that there should be plenty of VQ family data in there. If not some VQ35 information.

here's a stupid question... how much oil do i need the *first* time i switch to synthetic? - don't i need to flush the engine with it? how about *second* and so on times? - how much oil do i need per oil change? i haven't changed my own oil in years, and don't remember...

There is no need to do any flushes. You can use synthetic interchangeably with conventional motor oils.

I changed to amsoil 0w30 after 2000 miles on my car... been running it for about 300 miles on it and so far so good.. I am in Texas btw

Mobil one 5W30 with either OEM long filter or mobil one filter. Change every 5kms (3100 miles)
