What track?

What is your:

60'
330'
1/8 ET
1/8 MPH
1000'
1/4 mile
1/4 ET

Launch rpm?

Tires?
Sorry I didn't get a timeslip for that run and frankly I don't really care what anyone "believes".

I don't just have basic "bolt-ons" either.... the Crawford plenum has been polished and matched to the TB, the lower plenum "worked" and my throttlebody has been tweaked as well.

I've done about 20 runs (Texas Motorplex and Alamo Speedway). These tracks are at 300 ft elevation. Most of my runs have been in the 13.70 to 14.0 range w/102-103 mph... 1.9 to 2.3 60ft times. Adding the 3.9 gear dropped my times consistantly by .4 to .5 mph and my trap speed increased a solid 2 mph... even in the hotter weather.

Bone stock w/around 1500 miles, I ran 14.0-14.20s at 99-100 mph...

All those previous runs were done in very hot weather and high himidity during the summer months. The 13.50 run was done in 69 degree air and 30% humidity... barometric pressure was very high as well. Track conditions were really good (gummy surface). I wasn't able to duplicate that time, but did run a 13.60 and a couple of 13.70s... all in the 104-105 mph traps.

The biggest b*tch of people who own the 6MT rev-up motor is a lack of torque and subsequent lack of acceleration until the engine sees 4500-5000 rpm. The 3.917 gear throws that to the wind... it is without a doubt the best modification you can do to the 6MT rev-up engine. The combination is lethal!

Like I said, I dropped over half a second with just the gear ratio change. Unless you have a rev-up motor and a set of 3.9 gears, you have no idea what you are talking about

Oh, I did forget to mention I have pulled about 100 pounds out my sedan when I take it to the track.

also, I run 275/30-19 S0-3 Pole Position with 38-40 psi... I leave with alot of clutch slippage @ 2500-2700 rpm... I used to leave at 3000-3500 rpm, but that is no longer neccessary with the 3.90s.

My 19" wheels are 3-4 pounds lighter than the stock 18s... and only 1-2 pounds heavier than stock with the meatier tires.

I'm not responding to these posts to brag about my 1/4 mile times...

My point was that beating "Rustangs" isn't that big of a deal...

and that is coming from someone who owned 6 of them

In fact I've hung right with an LS1 Z28 and LS6 (The GTO) and even though I got beat both times, both drivers were shocked that they couldn't put some car lengths on me... Initially I was just as surprised as they were and really thought I'd get waxed...

Just curious. I've made over 50 runs on my car in the last 2.5 months. I'm starting to get worried about the excessive wear/tear I'm putting on the car, especially the tranny, so I'm planning on taking a break from the track for quite a while...
20 or so runs. Yeah, my transmission acts up on occasion. Hard shifts into 2nd almost always grinds. I'm sure it is a synchro problem but it has been there since the car was new. At first I thought it was my timing, but I don't think so any more. Many people have complained about this problem on 6MT cars. 3rd and 4th gear tire chirps are easy with the gear swap (3.90s). I can't powershift 2nd gear at the track because I lose too much time (the car spins badly) but there is almost always some grinding of the synchro in that gear(mesh).

If that's the case, I ran a 13.7 in my auto 03 with a polished plastic Z-tube. I just never got the slip.
