I had a chance to drive an '05 as a loaner. I was very impressed. Makes me jealous with my old @ss '03.

Same I love the 05, but not enough to trade in my two-year-old baby for it. Now, once she hits three... Glad you love it, Tom.

Geo, I liked my '04, but I like the '05 better, another nice thing is the sills and bumpers are all body color, save for a small piece in the back, but that black was always getting scuffed from feet. I do like it Geo, BTW, I thought you had an '03, like Christine?

Yeah. I had my sills painted, too, though. Best $30 I ever spent

Just picked up an '06 5AT. Silverstone / Stone. WOOOO HOOOOO!

At 100kph (60mph) in 5th gear, the engine is at something like 2800rpm! I thought the car was in warm-up mode, or that I had it on manual in 4th or something. Why's 5th it geared so low? That can't be good for mileage.

My impressions after um... a few hours? WOO HOO!!!!!!

Oh, so he copied you then, HaHa! Oh, and I forgot one other thing that's better, when the lights come on automatically and your wearing sunglasses, yo can still see the instruments, that would always bug me on my '04, I'd have to turn the dimmer all the way up!

Iso Octane, I didn't think the '06's were available anywhere yet, where did you buy yours?

That's the thing I like most about the '05's - the body colored rockers/under spoilers. It's subtle, but it makes the car look much better overall.

I'm in Toronto Canada. The car is fresh off the boat, and all signs from the VIN points to '06 (I was a bit skeptical too). Hats off to the dealer for getting the car delivered so quickly.

Those with the seatbelt rattle might want to check this out. If the sound is coming from the clasp rocking against the pillar, you can test this by bouncing your fingers against the lower part of the belt when there is no passenger, it is an easy 'fix'. It sounded to me like there was someting loose in the side door when I first heard it. The sound won't occur if you adjust the passenger seat back far enough that the clasp isn't caught in the space between the seat and pillar. If you constantly have passengers that like to adjust the seat you're outta luck, its a minor oversight by the engineers imo.

Ok.....so here's a question from a new prospective buyer. I've got to get the straight scoop, so please help me out.

I'm looking at getting the 05 G35, Auto, 17" Wheels. What kind of gas mileage should I expect ? I'm in love with the way the car handles, it's amazing. But, obviously gas prices being what they are, gas mileage is a concern, I'll be putting in more highway than city miles, but if someone's got a break down. I'd surely appreciate it.

Thanks...

Marcelo

I'm getting around 18-19 mpg mostly city driving, at first it wasn't that good, but as the car breaks in, it's increased, on my '04, once I hit 10k, I was consistently getting 19, sometimes 20, the only times it dropped a bit was when I had done a lot of stop and go, like around Christmas cruising the parking lot looking for a spot at the malls.
