More Interesting Brake News

After someone posted a complete list of TSBs, I decided to take my car to the dealer for a look over. However being in Canada, they have a less complete and up to date list of TSBs. And sadly, though I thought quite a few of them applied to my car, they couldn't confirm their existence when they tested it (typical). However, they did something unexpected regarding rear brake squealing, they didn't do anything to the rears but instead replaced my front pads and rotors for free. I didn't even know that there was a TSB for that.

So what's the difference? Well the biggest complaint for me with the brakes was its sensitivity upon initial pressure resulting in jerky stops. There was the occasional soft squeal too but the brake performance was so good, I never cared. Now, all of that is gone. Its easier to modulate and stops are smooth. It still needs some breaking in but I think it stops fairly well.

Anyone else have this service performed?

On a side note. They reinstalled some software and screwed up the auto climate control. Now, its somehow tied to the outside temp and only blows from the foot vents regardless of temperature setting. But now, my doors auto lock after about 2 or 3 minutes after I unlock my car which never worked before. Weird....

Definitely a mixed experience with this dealer, improvements and screw-ups all in one visit...go figure.

Are the doors supposed to auto lock after unlocking?
Mine do not do this.

God I love this car!

It's supposed to auto-lock if you unlock it with the remote, and then don't open any doors for a couple of minutes... sort of a remedy for accidentally pushing the unlock button in your pocket. I don't think it auto-locks in any other situation.

If you don't like this (the auto-lock) it can be disabled.
I had that done at the dealer.
