Should I Remove my tints???

After tinting my windows, a few problems have come up with my car.

The center console is squeeking, and i've tried to have ti fixed, but all he did was apply some dampner or something, that did absolutely nothing. With this I plan to go back and ask about the tsb for this problem.

The rear doors now also squeek on both sides. On the driver side, it also squeeks opening and closing the door. The dealership now will not fix the problem because they of course, blame it on the tint and installers (brought to a tint shop to have done). Oh, and the squeeks on the rear doors seem to be coming from the panel i.e. chrome strip on lower outside windows.

My question is, should I burn the $230 i spent on tints and remove them? What else can I do to get these problems fixed? If I do remove my tints, should I remove it from all the windows for less **** from the dealership. I have all windows tints, including driver door and front passenger door.

By removing the tints, I may be able to get the dealership to fix the problems. I can go to a different dealership (from the first one I went to )a lilttle further away to fix these problems.

I have the exact same problems with my sedan. I would call the dealership and ask for their reasoning behind not doing the warranty work due to window film. The film is less than a quarter of an inch thick, is applied to the window and in no way would be able to unscrew things inside the door to create the rattles. If they still don't give in, call the other dealership first and tell them you were thinking about getting your windows tinted but that you have some rattles in the car and that you want to make sure getting window tint does not void the eligibility for warranty work. If they say it does, time to remove it I guess.

F@ck that.... tint film isnt even 1/32 of an inch thick and in no way can it make your car start rattling or squeaking. The dealer is just making up an excuse so they dont have to do work for free. So much for the "Total Owner Experience" or whatever infiniti calls it. Last time i checked getting your windows tinted didnt void the warranty at all. You need to go to a different dealer.

Maybe the dealer doesn't want to be responsible for damaging the tint when trying to fix the rattles.

If your dealer has already blamed your woes on the installation of your new window tints . . . Removing them should not change the basis of their point/argument.

Now I've heard it all. I would never in a million years remove the tint of my car for that problem. Just take it to another dealer....don't even call in advance because you'll burn that bridge too. Just take it straight to them and tell them to fix it.

If I lived in your area I'd come to the dealership with you and show them that my windows are tinted and has nothing to do with the problem. Dealer's **** me off sometimes.

been there bo, infiniti of marin refused to fix the grease streaks on my passenger side window "because i had tints." The service manager even gave me a long explanation on how the tint increases the thickness of the window, and is now rubbing on greased parts inside the door, ect. I stood there with a blank face and asked him if he was serious? Plz dont get your car serviced at Infiniti of Marin, they are horrible in service. Just try a different dealership and keep the tints on, not all dealerships will void your warrenty for tint. Good luck

I had my window tints applied by the place the dealer would have sent the car. In fact, I asked for the installer by name, and told them _ from Infiniti of Memphis sent me over.

This must be a per-dealer policy; certain dealers seem to have no problems at all with this.

Hmm..not sure if any of this helps. I don't know if I want to go to the other dealership and end up wit the same run around, then they may remember me later on and make taking off the tints useless. And I will still be stuck with the squeeks. Dealerships will make any excuse to not do work for free. Maybe it doesn't help that I'm only 20...
